What do you think will be the next Disney Park to be built?

Disney is not adding a 5th gate to WDW until we’re all either old or dead. I hate to agree with Sir Walter on anything but he is 100% right here. It is not going to happen because they want to maintain the ideal 7 day trip envelope and a 5th park would upset that balance.

They will expand the 4 parks, but 5th gate is not happening.

But seriously…everything I said about the market saturation and bad financials for another gate is the reality…we can go deeper…
But it’s a labyrinth of reason why it really never make sense

I agree. It wouldn’t make any sense to do. If it was financially viable or in demand, then they would have done it already. But considering that some folks don’t even do all four parks on their current trips, adding a fifth into the mix would be a really stupid move.

It’d be a move DAK in particular would have to suffer the consequences of.

Soon? Not likely. That region just got a big fat fresh dose of destabilization and the look of it now is vastly different than just two months ago

The only path now is if UAE increases the ransom they’re willing to pay to “own a western Brand”. (Yes…that’s what this is all about) and they build it to just be a status symbol

We know Shanghai’s 2nd gate is also just as much along. So those both open early next decade probably.

That’s far more likely…as again…it’s a political symbol

As for the rest, my guess is we see a new park at Tokyo probably next decade,

Paris probably gets delayed again, though we’ll see it just depends on the success of DAW and they definitely need a new ride at DLP too?

Delayed how? There’s never gonna be another park there. History and math

And DisneylandForward or whatever happens first alongside massive WDW parks before a new gate would make sense.

Disneyland has “challenges”…Wdw has “stupidity”…but that’s been standard for along time

My guess is you’d probably see either a third American Disney resort or 3rd and 5th parks at their own existing gates circa 2040, whatever makes the ROI at the time.

Shanghai is absolutely getting a second gate. The rest are all either up in the air (Abu Dhabi) or flat out fantasy (the rest). But Shanghai second gate is a certainty.

Eventually. Hopefully they won’t want to be bit again like in 2002. It’ll be interesting to see if the numbers add up vs legal requirements.

Those movies did significant damage to an iconic franchise that has generated hundred of billions of dollars in ancillary sales/tie ins…

Too pooch them is not a “minor” mistake by any reasonable definition

To take that one step further, and to tie it back into the parks, the fact that Disney has had to back away from their insistence that Galaxy's Edge be "all sequel trilogy, all the time" and has had to go back to the original trilogy for GE is further proof of just how bad Disney screwed things up.

Pure speculation on my part - Not based on fact -

Under Iger, a new Disneypark would not have been be in the the USA. If Iger is currently a "consultant", and he still has any power, then there wont be a new Disneypark in the USA.

If Josh has the power, the odds are better for the USA, but not much better I suspect.
