And calling the land of said 3D model "amazing" is more mental gymnastics than I have ability.
You have not seen the land yet, so saying it won’t be amazing is the exact same amount of mental gymnastics. Also in the context of the existing DAW the land actually does look pretty amazing to me.

Why does everything need to be so extremely negative nowadays? Why can’t we just wait and see until a land opens before we criticize it? Why can’t we just look forward to new stuff? I don’t get it, positivity is so much more fun

This is Possibly due to the preconceived / more recent interpretation of a ride v a land? Thinking a new ride is a new land is as much an error by the public. No one goes to Ratatouille land; they go to the Ratatouille ride or eat in Remys despite it being a self contained themed area with a store and restrooms too. Disney actually emphasised Lion King will be a ride in an area as opposed to a land. As such your description of “the ride, a store and a meet n greet” is exactly what is promised. Plus restrooms. If fan forums or social media goes off on a tangent talking about what isn’t promised then that’s an unfortunate example of social media or fan forums.

Have you experienced the queues for BTM in Paris when it’s cold/raining/cloudy? Not to mention the LK ride will be predominantly inside.

Plus Tokyo handles it just fine.
yeah i just meant that its a baren place with a giant rock and a tree. Whereas Frozen has also a ride, store, restrooms, and food but also a port with a boat show, beautiful fountain, storefronts, castle, rockwork/mountain and just overall it seems like a lot more interesting imo to look at.

And I have no problem with a log flume, in fact i love water rides. I just am kinda iffy about building 2 of them in a row, beside each other for the new expansion around adventure bay and not mixing it up with a much different style attraction for the 2nd ride on the new expansion.

Still it looks great and Im sure LK will be amazing

I do think that the area near Rafiki's tree in the model could be used for some kind of meet and greet with Rafiki or Timon (or imagine a Simba meet and greet in the same style as Toothless in Epic?) or even a small show about the music of the film? (Image is from the 1st model shown at D23)

I’ve seen it mentioned a few times people looking for/wanting a meet and greet area. Do Timon and/or Rafiki really warrant a purpose built meet and greet? I feel they could go anywhere in the land and it be fine.

A Simba ala Toothless though now we’d be talking. I feel we’d have heard about this by now though if it was happening.

Can’t we just wait until the land is close to open before we gush over it and call it amazing?

I’m pragmatic. I’m realistic. I’ve also looked forward to stuff and been overwhelmingly positive only to get burned and let down by this management team for over 20 years. So my opinions come with many scars and no apologies.

Anywho… the main park needs a net-new addition. Badly.

On vacation at DLP right now, Frozen has been hard to get on the past two days but we're hoping to do it tonight. Just want to pipe in as someone who hasn't been to the resort in over a decade, I'm really surprised how impressed I am with Adventure World compared to the park I remember. On paper it isn't much new...a few refreshes of rides old as the hills plus Spider Man. But I mean...the new entry mall looks great, Avengers Campus is actually a huge upgrade with great visuals and landscaping, the park has my new favourite take on Tower of Terror, Adventure Way is lovely and the vista of Frozen on the other side of the lagoon is rather magnificent - especially at night. They should call it big boon lagoon for how much the bay transforms the park - and the Cascades show is the best Disney entertainment I've seen in what feels like decades. Lion King looks very promising and I can't wait to revisit in a few years (hopefully Space Mountain is back to some semblance of its former glory too).

20 years today since Buzz opened. Disneyland Parc desperately needs a new expansion

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'm curious what you like about their ToT. Of Florida, California, Paris, and Tokyo I would have ranked Paris in last place among the towers. Obviously, this could just be personal preference, but have they upgraded it in the past couple years since I've been there?

Does anyone know if the Alice stunt show will return this summer like it did last year?

They haven’t auditioned for it whatsoever. I’m sure auditions has already happened this time last year. There’a none even posted for this year so I’d be pretty certain it’s not coming back.

As Martin and Cliff mentioned, Paris has a new ride sequence that IMO is creepier and more coherent than the original. Add in the randomness (I think there are 4 or 5 unique profiles), stellar audio and effects and this version wins out for me. Would love it if WDW got a similar refresh.

Oooh would you be able to explain why you think it's more coherent by any chance? This isn't me challenging you haha I love hearing what people think of the old tower vs the new one

The new storyline with the little girl has massively improved this version and really brought it into its own.
It was a hilarious shock to me when the elevator pretty much immediately started the drop sequence as soon as the ride started. I was expecting to go through a bunch of show first like all other ToT versions. It kind of continues this theme at DLP of classic attractions subverting your expectations.

Also the announcement that it was returning in 2025 was made in December 2024. There’s been no announcement about it returning yet, which is another indication it’s not coming back.
