Unless they’ve expanded the plexiglass since October (which seems possible), it really didn’t bother us much this fall.
My understanding is that they've been adding it to more and more ride vehicles to increase capacity. Not sure how "new" that is or if it's in line with what you would have seen.

When I was there we didn’t experience anything bothersome. The barriers on the ride vehicles for ROTR didn’t exist and it was only one party per vehicle. Maybe on Slinky but it wasn’t bad.

The worst thing about our visit was the lack of preshows. FOP doesn’t lose much but at HM during the day, you don’t have time for eyes to adjust to see the first half of the attraction well.

MMRR and ROTR both have plexiglass allowing 2 party's in each ride vehicle. It's fine as long as you're not in the back row. The rollercoasters are all at full capacity without any plexiglass. The safari in AK is another one with plexiglass to allow for full capacity. Rides like soaring where the plexiglass in on the side is not bothersome at all.
All of that was new between my August and January trip.
