Are you sure you are at Disney??? According to those posting on here youd think....
1. CM hate their jobs. They are all rude and miserable. They are just 2 seconds away from being laid off, so why care.
2. They dont pay attention to, or help, or care about the guests. No one is knowledgable about anything and if asked, cant answer simple questions. You need to find out where to write in a complaint.
3. Theres trash everywhere you look. Trash barrels overflowing, trash blowing around the walkways.
4. Bathrooms disgusting. Theres no janitorial staff that is on top of cleaning. Smells reeking throughout the bathrooms.
5. No ones paying attention to distancing. The parks are a virus filled petri dishes. Youll certainly die by being there.
6. The weather is constantly humid, hot as heck, pure misery. Disney orders rain so they can sell their insanely expensive rain gear.
7. Its so crowded that no one can get anything done. Being there is a waste of your money. All the rides are broken and theres nothing to entertain you.
8. Disney doesnt know what they are doing. Everything is in pandemonium. They should have stayed shut down. They dont need the money. They dont care if you all die.
9. You may think you have had a great day... but you are soooo wrong. You apparently are a Disney kool aid drinker and are oblivious to reality. You could only enjoy Disney years ago when there wasnt greedy, heartless people in charge.
10. Yes these forums are helpful... but only if you pay attention to the right minded posters.
11. Bonus. How did you get on RoR? No one gets on RoR. If you did I'm sure it broke down and you didnt enjoy the SW attraction that doesnt deserve a spot at Disney cause its not what Walt would have wanted in DHS.

I know...You are actually at Uni, ( or any other park you can think of) where they do everything better than Disney. ;););)
(12. Towel animals! I was told there would be towel animals. I didn't get any towel animals.)
You're right. Maybe I've died and gone to heaven. 🤪
Seriously, tho, it's all about perspective isn't it? We are so happy to not be at home in lockdown, to see something besides the inside of our house and to see the same 6-8 people that we've been stuck with for nearly a year. So happy to talk to new faces. So happy to be in our Happy Place.
Yes, there were cast members who were aloof and detached. But we focused on the ones that smiled and seemed interested. I had an issue that required Guest Relations. She didn't smile, didn't make eye contact, didn't seem like she wanted to be there. Five minutes later, a Merchandise CM helped me with sunglasses. She stayed with me until I found what I wanted, was friendly and helpful. The place was busy and she could have left me alone, but she didn't. I focused on my time with her, not the Sourpuss.

I went in September and was, for the most part, miserable. Stopping for a mask break was a highlight. But the lines were short and the CMs were amazing. Can't say enough about how positive and organized the CMs were. Might go back for F&G.

The only thing different about WDW for me is the mask and the no fast passes. The no fast passes is a good thing. I've always treated WDW like a vacation with lots of resort time and nice dinners.

We've never been park warriors or needed a parade or a firework show. I've had a great time on both of our pandemic trips. I have a stressful job. My favorite vacation is a relaxing cruise. It's probably why I have no issue with the scaled back WDW.

The lines were short and the CMs were amazing and you might go back but you were miserable?

Well, the last bit came true.
2. They dont pay attention to, or help, or care about the guests. No one is knowledgable about anything and if asked, cant answer simple questions. You need to find out where to write in a complaint.
I've never seen this outside of that epic thread from whatsahoozit.
3. Theres trash everywhere you look. Trash barrels overflowing, trash blowing around the walkways.
Well, that's a bit over the top. But anyone who says the place is just as clean as it was in the good old days of... 2015? are kidding themselves.
4. Bathrooms disgusting. Theres no janitorial staff that is on top of cleaning. Smells reeking throughout the bathrooms.
True for some of them.
5. No ones paying attention to distancing. The parks are a virus filled petri dishes. Youll certainly die by being there.
The hyperbole is a little much but for the most part, I've read that Disney is safer than your local supermarket (maybe because the supermarket isn't enforcing mask rules... but that's just elementary, my dear Watson).
6. The weather is constantly humid, hot as heck, pure misery. Disney orders rain so they can sell their insanely expensive rain gear.
Um.
7. Its so crowded that no one can get anything done. Being there is a waste of your money. All the rides are broken and theres nothing to entertain you.
Yes, rides have had plenty of issues since day one but there's a cluster of operational flaws right now exceeding the norm.
8. Disney doesnt know what they are doing. Everything is in pandemonium. They should have stayed shut down. They dont need the money. They dont care if you all die.
Huh?
9. You may think you have had a great day... but you are soooo wrong. You apparently are a Disney kool aid drinker and are oblivious to reality. You could only enjoy Disney years ago when there wasnt greedy, heartless people in charge.
I think I give up.

Well, Walt would already be disappointed that the signature reason for WDW was cancelled. But yes, RoR is an operational and design disaster. Best attraction in Orlando when it works.

I rarely see this here.

Awesome! It really is.
The cast members are the old school-long timers who love their jobs and it shows.
Several were able to help me out in a way that brought back some of the magic that I’ve missed.
The parks are so clean because guests are taking breaks and eating in designated areas.
The bathrooms and restaurants are clean and tidy because of crowd control - only a few people in at a time.
The lines are socially distanced so no one is stepping on your heels wishing you would go faster thru the cue. This only issue happens when someone zones out and gets too close. A very gentle reminder of ‘a little space please’ with very smiley eyes is all you need for that.
The weather, well, it’s Florida. It’s beautiful (after that brief downpour).
It seems crowded but that’s because everybody is outside. You have to cue outside for rides, shops, restaurants, everything. Everyone is calmly waiting their turn and enjoying their families.
Disney really has done a great job with this crazy situation!
Today has been a great day!
These forums have been so helpful in helping plan out this last minute trip. Thank you, Everyone!
Bonus: We made it onto RoR!!
(again, thank you!)
I found it to be similar. That said I look forward to being able to do everything again without the cloud over everything, and to be mask free

Yeah, you missed the point here... the things I posted were all sarcastic responses to what the OP posted aimed at the posters on here that spout doom and gloom about all things Disney. The OP had a great time and was reflecting on how Disney was different than all the negatives that some want to push out here. Sure Disney isnt close to being the perfect world everyone thinks it once was, but its still a place many can and do enjoy.

Couldn't agree with you more @MotherofPearle - we have paid two visits to WDW since they reopened (July and November) and while the lack of entertainment is a bummer, we had excellent visits. CMs were in great spirits both times and while there were definitely some hiccups, no more so than on any other trip (or any other vacation anywhere). The two weeks in July were great training for my wife and I as we are required to wear a mask for about 8 hours straight (with a 25 minute lunch break) and having worn them all day, every day in July at Disney makes wearing them at work a piece of cake!

Glad you are having a great visit.

We are on the plane there now, so love seeing the positive posts. Personally I think you can always have a great trip, if you CHOOSE to do so and if you CHOOSE you have a bad time, you will.

Just go in with with proper expectations.....will it be different? Yes! Can you still have a great time? Absolutely!

I read it as the masks made it miserable. If that's what the poster meant I can relate. I was there in August and I was physically miserably in the heat with a mask on, but still had a great time with the lower crowds. We went back in January. The crowds were higher, but it was a much more comfortable experience.

I'm going in April and my guess going in is that the plexiglass everywhere will bug me more than masks or any of the other changes, but we shall see.

Unless they’ve expanded the plexiglass since October (which seems possible), it really didn’t bother us much this fall.

We just flew home Friday and had a good time. Lines weren't too bad. My only complaint is the bussing situation. They only let so many on and because of this its harder to get anywhere. If u are one of the last stops in the loop at the resort, the buss a lot of the time will already be full. So good luck being there at park opening. If you are making reservations, I highly recommend you make them for a time that you will already be in the park. Also, busses run 1 hour before park opening, but do not LEAVE the station until 1 hour before. So the bus may not be at the resort until maybe 15 min or so into the that hour before. So then the next bus may come but again, it will start at the beginning of the resort loop and then get filled up again before it gets to the middle and last stops. So just be prepared.
