Busy - working two sites.

Our current incentives end on 3/31, and the Spring campaign starts after Easter. The gov’t just announced 13% tax rebates on all new homes which kicks in for deals signed on or after 4/1, so we might have a breather this weekend … orrrrr it will be bedlam dealing with buyers who already purchased and are irate that they aren’t entitled to a 13% rebate.

Based on the fact that I had to put my phone on DND today (day off, we’re entitled), I think I know which scenario is more likely. 😂😂

I love being busy though.
That's a lot! You guys never cease to amaze me -- well done! 🥰

I am home. Got home about 7pm CT. It was a long day of travel. We left the hotel around 6:45am and were to the airport by 7:05 for a 9:45 flight. I'm glad we got there that early, because the check-in line was longer than expected. Luckily, we had priority and could go in the shorter line. The agents were not very quick, either. We still got there with about 30 minutes before they started boarding.

We also realized as we scanned our boarding passes that they did a plane swap at some point, and we weren't notified that row 2 (which we had chosen) was actually the front row of this plane, and we were in an exit row. We also got to get close and personal with the flight attendants as they sat facing us, 3 feet away. We also weren't able to have our backpacks with us. Not ideal. However, we made it to Des Moines in about 2 hours and 52 minutes. It was longer to drive back home, which was closer to 3.5 hours.

Like I said, I'll share more about the trip, but I had a blast! Literally everything (expect the plane swap today) went so smoothly. I also have to give a huge shoutout to @ajrwdwgirl for all of her help throughout the planning process! I asked her so many questions, and she gave me lots of advice. You helped make it such a great experience, so once again, thank you! ☺️
Happy to hear you had enough time to get to your gate, for the flight home.

From the updates you shared about your trip so far, I could tell that you were having a blast. Will be looking forward to additional observations, etc., about your adventures at Disneyland!

I used my parents' jetted tub this evening. I am on day 2 of a migraine, so when that happens, I frequently go borrow their tub when they're not home.

So I was sitting there relaxing when I spotted a big old black spider right up by the overflow spout.

I decided to handle it like a mature adult and took a tissue and squished the spider. Instead of what I wanted to do which was get out and run away screaming and let one of the cats take care of it. No, I killed it myself.

Or so I thought.

Because right when I was about to get out of the tub, I looked, and there was the spider...hanging out exactly where he had been before.

I very carefully got out of the tub, took the sprayer (thank goodness they had that put on) and washed it down the drain.

And that is how my evening was ruined.
Spiders always look big. Are you sure it wasn’t just an itsy bitsy spider who just wanted to climb up the overflow spout? :joyfull:

I had a weird spider experience a few years back. I walked into the bathroom and there, on the floor, was the largest spider I had ever seen. I don't remember the exact progression of it, but I somehow killed it, I think, and that bulk of a spider ended up being made up of a massive number of baby spiders that were riding on the back of what I can only assume was Mom (Mum, for the old English speaking folks). It seemed like there must have been at least a hundred of those little black, six legged, creatures scattering all over my bathroom floor. I managed to quickly grab a can of what was originally spray to kill ants and thankfully it worked on baby spiders. As cute as they may be, the very last thing I needed was an army of them maturing to full size and remembering I was the one that offed their old lady. She, even without the massive number of hitch-hikers, was still quite large.

You're a braver man than I.

Had that been me, witnessing such would have immediately cancelled out the reason I was most likely walking into the bathroom in the first place.

I’m so sorry to hear that. I can’t imagine what it would be like to lose one my brothers.

I appreciate your kind words and you taking the time to respond.
It’s tough, there’s just no way around it.
When we were kids in the mid 70’s we were all talking about how old we would be in the year 2000, and how far away that was. Here we are now 26+ years after 2000 and we’re losing him.
Honestly, the way we were in our late teens and early 20’s, I’m kinda’ surprised we made it this long.
My two bros and I partied a bit hard back in the day.
We all mellowed out considerably when we met our future wives.
Funny how that works.
Anyway, I’ll start rambling further if I don’t cut myself off, but, again, thank you very much.

I had similar surgery. Fell off the first step of a stepladder when it collapsed, trapping my leg - broke my leg, and had to have the meniscus in my knee removed 7 months later.

They had to “fix” my knee to make it stable enough for the hip replacement six months later.

Both still cause me daily pain. Difference is, I’m pushing 60, so it’s par for the course. You’re young, so this especially sucks for you. I’m sorry. 🙁
Hip replacement when you're not even 60 is no picnic either.

The age thing is why I wanted them to fix it, though. I told the surgeon that I did not want to have to have a knee replacement at 50 (or earlier) because of an injury that I initially had when I was 26 and then ignored at 30. Especially since I never had issues with my knees before that accident and my right knee is perfectly fine. It cracks when I bend it and if I step wrong, I get sharp pain there. I'm over it.

Right ankle, well, I figured at some point I was going to sprain it badly enough that it would need to be fixed because I've sprained it so many times just walked on it. One time I remember doing it at an O's game on uneven steps. I went down, and my dad was asking me if I was okay, and I physically could not respond to him because it was so painful. It got to the point that I'd do it and it wouldn't even swell. When I did it this past time, it doubled in size in a minute, so I knew I'd done it. Chipped a piece of bone. The bone, fortunately, healed, but they had to go in and tighten the ligament up. It feels much more stable than it did before the sprain. Bracing it just helps reduce soreness at this point.

Dang, I’m sorry.
This will be so hard for your parents.

May your brother be blessed with a swift, pain-free, peaceful passing, surrounded by the people who love him most.

Thank you so very much, Jennifer.
I know you’ve experienced a lot of loss of loved ones in your life, and I’m so very sorry for that.
You’ve lost more than anyone should have to.
I’ve been a little more fortunate in that respect, but it’s still painful.
And yes, my folks are taking it pretty hard, but they also know the reality that it’s all inevitable, one way or the other.
Thank you so very much again, Jennifer.

It looked like it had taken up residence in there.

I texted my mother about it, who laughed at me and said she was glad I used her tub because she did not want spiders taking up residence in her bathroom. 🤣

(Yes, I am a 30 year old woman who texts my mother to tell her about spiders in the bathtub and no, I don't care).

I keep a cordless vacuum in our basement (that is where my office and my living space is) because we get so many bugs that I just go zap them up with it.

Which I guess is better than the mice, which my younger cat Ella was bringing me for a while. At least Jasmine eats them...

I'm thinking there isn't much Jasmine won't eat
She won't eat people food. Belle was my people food eater, and now it's Ella. Why both tuxedos like the cereal pieces of Lucky Charms is an absolute mystery.

The cats who were picky about the cat food go after people food and the cat who inhales cat food doesn't want people food. And the cats who I've had trouble keeping the weight on? Also the people food eaters.

Make it make sense.

OK, I’m watchin’ “The Wedding Singer” on cable.
Sammy the limo driver does the limo driver test and hubcaps are flyin’ everywhere.
It reminded me of something I forgot to post the other day.
Somebody behind me at a light pulled out of a store parking lot and ran over the curb while doing so. They ended up pulling into the far left lane with their hubcap following them, and then it rested on the far left curb just behind them…you can’t make this stuff up. They had no clue, and there the hubcap stayed…!!!!! :hilarious:
