Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

I used my parents' jetted tub this evening. I am on day 2 of a migraine, so when that happens, I frequently go borrow their tub when they're not home.

So I was sitting there relaxing when I spotted a big old black spider right up by the overflow spout.

I decided to handle it like a mature adult and took a tissue and squished the spider. Instead of what I wanted to do which was get out and run away screaming and let one of the cats take care of it. No, I killed it myself.

Or so I thought.

Because right when I was about to get out of the tub, I looked, and there was the spider...hanging out exactly where he had been before.

I very carefully got out of the tub, took the sprayer (thank goodness they had that put on) and washed it down the drain.

And that is how my evening was ruined.
Your night was ruined.
The poor spider was having a pleasant conversation (a little one sided) about the relavent difference between warp drive and hyperspace and next thing he was sent spinning down a water rapids ride with no chance to don his swim trunks or grab a pool noodle.
Poor little guy 😞😉

I mean, the other day one became a toy for Jasmine.

That's what they get for coming inside instead of staying outside. Where they belong.

Not their fault your house is built on an ancient spider burial ground.

I don't do that one because I detest getting wet. :hilarious: No, not even when I'm with my parents and staying over at GCF. Also don't do Tiana's at DL for that reason. I don't care if the WDW one is otherwise inferior as long as I can sit in the back and stay dry.

I don’t do them anymore either because I hate getting soaked or even just a little wet on rides. I liked it when I was a teen but that was a long time ago.

Whenever one can, try and evaluate where the most weight is located. I have found that as the raft turns downward the heaviest part gets to be closest to the splash. It didn't work for me because I am heavier than most so I just automatically get the brunt of those type rides.

The first time I rode one of those I didn't use the foot rest so along with my upper body my shoes got flooded as well. I spent the rest of the day squishing with every step. The clothes dried quickly but the shoes did not.

So yesterday afternoon we headed back to California Adventure for our Incredicoaster LL. We got front row. Then it said Grizzly River Run was a 55 minute wait, so we decided to do it because we probably will never be able to again. We only waited 37 minutes total, so ot was worth it.

After heading back to the hotel to dry off, we went back to Disneyland and ate at the Golden Horseshoe before using a LL on Space. We had some time, so we did the Tiki Room. Next we used LLs for Big Thunder and Matterhorn. Rise then said 45 minutes, so we did standby, but it only took 17 minutes to get to the pre-shows.

We then headed for our last ride of the trip, Haunted Mansion. On our walk out, we caught the start of Paint the Night again, so we watched for the third time.

We're waiting for the ticket counter to open at the airport right now. Hopefully this weekend I can write a TR, or at least start it. I have many more thoughts to share!

I’ve been putting this off for a bit, but, since it’s been a while, I need to update.
Youngest bro will not be around on this earth much longer.
All cancer treatments have been stopped, based on prognosis.
He’s at home (where he will pass), weak and in some pain, but as comfortable as possible.
Myself and youngest bro spent a lot of time with him on Sunday watching some March Madness, some golf and shooting the breeze.
We chatted about so many things and, of course, reminisced.
Our folks are fully aware, and we joked about that at one point, as Mom is 86 and Pop is 93…”Don’t live so damn long if ya’ don’t wanna’ have one of your kids die before you…!!!!!” :hilarious:
Sorry for that, but it’s just the way we tend to deal with things of this nature.
He will be cremated and his wife will keep his ashes.
After she passes, she will be cremated as well, and their grown son and daughter have been instructed to scatter their ashes together in the ocean off Maui.
Sorry if this brought the thread down, but, as my bro would love, my next post will be a bit silly…
I’m so sorry to hear that. I can’t imagine what it would be like to lose one my brothers.

I am home. Got home about 7pm CT. It was a long day of travel. We left the hotel around 6:45am and were to the airport by 7:05 for a 9:45 flight. I'm glad we got there that early, because the check-in line was longer than expected. Luckily, we had priority and could go in the shorter line. The agents were not very quick, either. We still got there with about 30 minutes before they started boarding.

We also realized as we scanned our boarding passes that they did a plane swap at some point, and we weren't notified that row 2 (which we had chosen) was actually the front row of this plane, and we were in an exit row. We also got to get close and personal with the flight attendants as they sat facing us, 3 feet away. We also weren't able to have our backpacks with us. Not ideal. However, we made it to Des Moines in about 2 hours and 52 minutes. It was longer to drive back home, which was closer to 3.5 hours.

Like I said, I'll share more about the trip, but I had a blast! Literally everything (expect the plane swap today) went so smoothly. I also have to give a huge shoutout to @ajrwdwgirl for all of her help throughout the planning process! I asked her so many questions, and she gave me lots of advice. You helped make it such a great experience, so once again, thank you! ☺️

Glad you had a good vacation out west. Just know that certain perspectives in your life may have shifted after your visit to DL. Looking forward to more of your thoughts.

Cartilage removal.

Back in December 2021, my dad and I were riding bikes on the beach in Hilton Head. The brakes on that bike were NOT very good, and we should not have been riding at high tide. He stopped short and I crashed into him. Broke my right middle finger and messed up my knee.

PCL is torn and has been, but that knee hasn't been right. I finally saw surgeon #3 who said that when that happens, the cartilage gets killed off and slowly can start causing issues. He said there's a piece of cartilage that's likely catching there and causing the knee to give way.

It needs to be fixed. It gave out when I was carrying a suitcase down some steps last June, and I broke/sprained my ankle so bad that it had to be fixed surgically. Fortunately, the knee surgery should be an easier recovery than ankle surgery was. I had the surgery back in September and only was able to stop physical therapy at the end of February.

This will be Ortho surgery #4 and overall surgery #7. *sigh* Three since the beginning of last year; gallbladder had to come out last February.
I had similar surgery. Fell off the first step of a stepladder when it collapsed, trapping my leg - broke my leg, and had to have the meniscus in my knee removed 7 months later.

They had to “fix” my knee to make it stable enough for the hip replacement six months later.

Both still cause me daily pain. Difference is, I’m pushing 60, so it’s par for the course. You’re young, so this especially sucks for you. I’m sorry. 🙁

Hey, @JenniferS -- my guess is that the home sales are still booming, and you're working long hours. Hope you and Mike have also been able to take an occasional break from work, to enjoy some of the regional events and restaurants, up in your area. :)
Busy - working two sites.

Our current incentives end on 3/31, and the Spring campaign starts after Easter. The gov’t just announced 13% tax rebates on all new homes which kicks in for deals signed on or after 4/1, so we might have a breather this weekend … orrrrr it will be bedlam dealing with buyers who already purchased and are irate that they aren’t entitled to a 13% rebate.

Based on the fact that I had to put my phone on DND today (day off, we’re entitled), I think I know which scenario is more likely. 😂😂

I love being busy though.

Dang, I’m sorry.
This will be so hard for your parents.

May your brother be blessed with a swift, pain-free, peaceful passing, surrounded by the people who love him most.
