Sounds like they brought it back briefly sometime between late 2022 and very early 2025 then. As of fall 2025 it appeared to be completely gone.
Taken in July 2024.

Could it be related to the 250th anniversary of the United States? They could add a little America 250 emblem to the signage just like they did at certain attractions for Disney100.

What would small world have to do with that?

And it aint exactly like Los Estados unidos is promoting the message these days

The history and development of the attraction is quite connected to American culture, style, and achievement.

There’s the connection to the 1964 New York World’s Fair, the song is one of the most recognizable in all of American culture, Mary Blair’s designs helped define America’s take on mid-century modern art, and it ties into the fact that the United States is predominantly an immigrant nation. Not to mention the rich influence of American icons including Walt Disney (of course) as well as the Sherman brothers.

If you reach that far out of the window…you’re gonna be splat on the pavement below

I don’t think it’s a reach, but to each their own. Again, just a theory. Could easily be something totally different.
To be honest I’m kinda worried about you…

American is building things…storming Omaha beach…Apollo…

Not really the Sherman brothers…but I do love them as much as anyone…with context

Obviously they are raising the signage to cover the sightline back to Cars Mountain and Fire Mountain which would be out of theme for Fantasyland, look for lots of this in the future

Personally I think it’s a little counter to the point of it’s a small world’s existence in the first place to credit it as an American anything. It was intended to promote and explore the exact opposite of that sort of thinking.
I disagree. It promotes the ideal of being open to the world, celebrating the diversity of various cultures, and recognizing the basic humanity that we all share, and believes it’s a good thing when we all come together. In other words: America, the home of immigrants from around the world, that have brought their cultures and traditions with them to this country. The attraction celebrates all the people of the world while at the same time highlighting what makes America so unique.
