I disagree. Disney as a company has been quietly taking a swift U-Turn on their political stances shifting it back over to neutral ground again.I keep seeing all these articles about how its a big change and ladies and gentlemen is coming back. I have a feeling the monorail audio is just a one off of someone who didn't get the memo.
You could be right and I much prefer the original greeting. Disney is pivoting more away from trying to be inclusive vs how they were pushing it for quite a few years there.I disagree. Disney as a company has been quietly taking a swift U-Turn on their political stances shifting it back over to neutral ground again.
It is MILDLY related to this thread, but the decision makings of changing some films like Elio or the PIXAR dude saying "We are making entertainment, not providing therapy" demonstrates this clearly.
I dont want anyone to respond to this and go down a huge rabbit hole of political nonsense. But, it IS relevant. And it DOES help paint that bigger picture where Disney is just wanting to go back to business and entertainment. As opposed to trying to "change the world."
They are trying to quietly please both audiences/extreme sides by just going back to normal so that they can profit off of both... And I think that is ok.
I feel like its a "not on the top of the priorities" thing, but may be addressed if they are working on something new and stumble across a decision to be made then. Like this instance. You could be right and I much prefer the original greeting. Disney is pivoting more away from trying to be inclusive vs how they were pushing it for quite a few years there.
Do we expect more announcements to change? I'd imagine if it was a mandate to change the announcements they'd have reverted to the older ones already.
Crusades never really work out, whatever side you're on. Neutral as a company always is the best choice. No need to overthink it. Saying Ladies/Gentlemen is fine. Not saying it is fine.I feel like its a "not on the top of the priorities" thing, but may be addressed if they are working on something new and stumble across a decision to be made then. I also dont think they are pushing away from the whole inclusive thing entirely... But I do think they are bouncing off of a more statistical guest feedback in the parks/profits as opposed to the extremely loud side on social media.
If their surveys directly on their property are statistically saying something different than that of social media, they may be turning their heads to what is making a dollar as opposed to trying to be the next headline on tiktok.
Dollars speak louder than tiktok views. And I think they are figuring this out just a few years later.
Thanks for breaking my post down to something easier to understand. This was the essence of what I was trying to get at. I appreciate you.Crusades never really work out, whatever side you're on. Talking about why you say it or don't say it when it gets stupid.
Disney was on a crusade before and they've recently started to realize they're stupid for doing that experiment.
The problem is you cannot have inclusion without exclusion. This inclusive language excludes me, as my daughters are no longer called princess. Despite probably good intentions, this change in language is less respectful, as I would rather be called Sir, opposed to Friend.I can’t believe people even notice this stuff.
Disney has always been inclusive and will continue to be so. Once we recover our collective mind Disney won’t be attacked for it.
Like I said, once we recover our collective mind . . .The problem is you cannot have inclusion without exclusion. This inclusive language excludes me, as my daughters are no longer called princess. Is there a non-gender term you’d prefer to be called though? That’s where it gets tricky.Despite probably good intentions, this change in language is less respectful, as I would rather be called Sir, opposed to Friend.

Ladies and gentlemen, b’s and sob’s of all ages.Is there a non-gender term you’d prefer to be called though? That’s where it gets tricky.
You mean “rich A- holes of all ages”Ladies and gentlemen, b’s and sob’s of all ages.
Or poor. Likely spent all their money going to WDW.You mean “rich A- holes of all ages”
We are humans with a gender, are either a Lady or Gentleman, boy or girl. It doesn’t need to be non-gender.Is there a non-gender term you’d prefer to be called though? That’s where it gets tricky.
Are we talking about the announcements or CM’s addressing you individually? We are humans with a gender, are either a Lady or Gentleman, boy or girl. It doesn’t need to be non-gender.
It’s PatIf the later, it’s nice if they use non-gender terms so they don’t mis-gender a guest on accident.
Can we get Pat and Debbie Downer in a skit together!?!? I had forgotten about Pat!It’s Pat
Specifically, I would rather be addressed by a CM as Sir. My girls rather be called Princess. Are we talking about the announcements or CM’s addressing you individually?

Sorry if you mean the announcements.
Although if I hear “ladies and gentleman, boys and girls!” In the MK I’ll be sad if wishes doesn’t start! Good times.
