MK Piston Peak and Villains Land Construction Thread

I just don’t see it as being like a single entry dead end. We’ll have the west side of Piston peak (by Big Thiunder) and the east side of Piston Peak (by HM). This two areas are pretty far apart. In fact adding an entry via Tangled is much closer to HM entry than already planned BTMRR entry. Not to mention flushing even more traffic through Bermuda trangle choke area that is Pan-Small World-Tangled

I can’t quite envision the benefit from inside Villians land yet, not until we have a better known land layout.
It's been my understanding that those 2 points will come together at the entrance to Villains Land, as there will be a circle around Piston Peak.

This post was not about construction timelines "directly relating to the construction of Villains land":

If you have a problem with forum rules, you should take it up with the mods.
If there's a problem, then YOU'RE the one that needs to take it up with the mods, not me! You could have also aske the entire group to move on, since I wasn't the one that brought up Pandora.

So, do you have any comments on the several topics of Piston Peak or Villains Land that I've brought up, or are you just here to interrupt and police this thread?

I always assumed there would be 2 entrances to the Villians land similar to galaxies edge and Pandora.

I haven’t seen anything to contradict that.
I'm curious how you've come to that conclusion. The layout at MK is obviously nothing like Disneyland (assuming that's the Galaxy's Edge that you meant), and the whole thing that I went through to figure out a path through to the Tangled Toilets was to find another way. By 2 entrances to Villains Land, are you talking about a narrow horseshoe?

I don't think we know anything for sure... but I think most people's assumption is that it will look something like this:

Do you count this as 2 entrances (HM and Big thunder) or 1 because they link into a single road?
Thank you. This demonstrates exactly what I'm saying with it being a dead end cul-de-sac, and where I was assuming that the entrance would sorta be. The only other method I can think of is like a horseshoe, but then it's really kind of tight for that, so I'm not sure that you could pull off 2 gates, or what would even be the point, with them so close together.

Maybe itll be something like this:

Yeah, I was wondering why not just open up the path, unless there's some other reason, like putting a building in the center. I don't think that we've seen all of the buildings just from the water permit, but there was one in that middle area that was in a really strange place there, and it changed shapes in the revised submission... Maybe it really is 2 gates!

This is kind of where I'm assuming the main gateway will be, btw. I'm not sure if there's room to go around that L-shaped building next to BTM, but maybe that could be a second path.

Technically, I think a figure eight would probably “feel” better since your path could trace it and constantly hit new attractions and shopping along the way, whereas the Big Thunder node forces some degree of re-tracing.
It's interesting that you say that, because I'm now warming up to the fact that this building, which was originally shown as a rectangle in the first draft, has such an unusual shape, that it's almost like they are going for an organic look, in order to break up the scenery. Indeed, very much like Epic's obvious main portals, and less obvious exit paths. (not that you can't go in that way)

What if this same odd-looking "building" is tall enough to resemble a sort of a small desert canyon wall, so it blends right in with BTM on that side but the rock work fades in color the closer you get to Villains? Same with the "gate" side. Then there's the side that faces Villains Land, itself, which will be immersed in the same look as the rest of the Land, so once you're in, you're visually sounded by nothing but Villains Land! Seriously, this finally makes sense of these buildings, for me! I honestly think this could be the design!

Just to show how backwards my thinking is - I think the patents are the opposite - the arm is for the rally ride and the “choose your adventure” is for the family ride.

it could also be the patents were for 2 different ideas - both for the rally ride.
