New Tomorrowland @ Disneyland? Is this the year it finally gets announced? No, and that’s OK

Why are there no "toons" in your version of the future?

Interesting timing as I just took a nap with Back to the Future 2 in the background. Christopher Lloyd and of course you hear that Roger score all over the place.

Only if Inside Out is used to talk about mental health in an Edutainment way with an omnimover. Otherwise toons don't belong in Tomorrowland.
Agree, personally if they used Inside out to talk about mental health in the edutainment way and used F4 to talk about family relationships, and Wall-E to talk about nature and the importance of it would be my pitch.

^^^ I sadly agree with you, @Disney Irish. Unfortunately, almost any topics on these Boards (and others too), people can't politely agree to disagree. Because we are not "face to face", it seems to be open season for too many people to be rude and demeaning. It's a sad state of this world. What happened to kindness and respect?

Its not just this board, its the world in general that we live right now.

So for example something that would seem obvious and usually agreed upon by almost all about an overall future with sustainable technology. However put that in a new Disney TL attraction and it can quickly get turned into an all out attack against Disney by groups that don't like that message, and said that Disney is pushing an agenda with their Parks. This I suspect is one of the reasons why Disney has yet to do something with TL, and why most plans include the use of IP that is deemed "safe" instead of original attractions.

Ok, not a theory, but kinda a hope. I would be so happy if Monsters got delayed and they decide to put money and time into TL before Avatar pushing Avatar back. As I think TL and the new enterence/hub need to be the priority. I also still think Avatar would work best either in DL or a third park and still think that this project of Avatar in DCA will never happen (it's been 5 years)

I think it’s incredibly likely with how project timelines are settling there are significant 2029 projects for Disneyland and Epcot. We were just made prematurely aware of villains and Pandora for two different reasons.

As well developed as the near term pipeline is, if they are actually increasing spend to the point they say they are, we need to see more than what we got decade on decade. Even accounting for inflationary pressures. At WDW that means lapping Springs, Pandora, DAK broadly, DHS broadly, Skyliner, Galaxies Edge and wave one of Epcot, i don’t yet see us being ahead of that.

Likewise at Disneyland Galaxies Edge was a big ordeal, even if Avengers Campus was meh. The DCA pipeline doesn’t quite overtake that with MMRR in the mix and some spending wastage at DCA.

I agree with the exception of Villains is definitely happening in some shape or form while Pandora I still think is questionable until ground is broken. But I definitely agree EPCOT and DL are gonna get heavy investments soon. Would also throw in AK and the Paris parks too for the parks that will get big expansions

Oh I’m not doubting either project is happening. Josh has cancelled absolutely nothing yet in his tenure and that includes weird one-off items that another park exec would typically pretend were never mentioned.

I think what has changed is my interpretation of their timelines. Villains seems to have shifted a bit and the Eastern Gateway just didn’t get off the ground expediently enough. Though they knew this a while ago, I don’t think they had a clear eastern gateway timeframe when Pandora first was slotted into the backlot a few years ago.

This Pandora project is a signature project with really strong buisness arguments to carry it through. They’ve just reaffirmed it again.

So one LA Times person writes an article and the whole of WDI buckles? Reminds me of the 10 people mad at Splash Mountain getting the ride closed.

I'm glad for the gas engines going away but why does Disney give the LA Times this much power?

Per the journalist it just means autopia gas engines are gone in 2026, but no idea when it is reopening. Did he just get an opening day attraction closed?

Sounds very Disney to abandon another Tomorrowland ride.

Welp.... it's the Spring of 2026 now. When does the rehab start? Where's the electric Autopia? 🧐
