News Magic Kingdom Permits Filed for Big Al's, Westward Ho, and Churro Cart Possible Demolition

Not necessarily, It could just indicate that it is on the Western side of the park especially if they are moving away from the 1800s frontier idea which it appears to be what they are doing. Tomorrowland has essentially been Fantasyland East for the last twenty years anyway.
I disagree. I think other nations have a conception of "Western" from Gunsmoke, Bonanza, John Wayne movies, etc., hence the name "Westernland". They know what that means.

Big Al's and Westward Ho Disappear from Magic Kingdom Digital Map After Permits Filed for Demolition

We won't see the name "Westward Ho!" again. In the 1970s that was known as a call to action from American History. Today, the response would be "Wait. What?"

It's also a reference to the name of a Fess Parker movie from the 50s, 'Westward Ho, the Wagons!" Must be one of the most obscure references to a Disney IP in the park.

And if I'm not mistaken, the space that is now Prairie Outpost and Supply was originally a shop called Westward Ho and was actually turned into interior queue space for the Country Bear Jamboree in the 70s.

That jogs a vague, fuzzy memory, you may be correct. Now I'll have to go try to figure out if it's correct or not. :D

Edited to add - Yep, you nailed it. It was around until sometime in 1973.

Back around 2010, our 3 kids went to a high school called Westwood.
One year the Pep Squad had an idea for t-shirts that had “Westwood Ho!” printed on them.
By the time the modern slang faux pas had been caught it was too late, as the shirts had already been printed…!!!!!🤣

Yep. The original meaning is completely lost to history, as it were. Now, it's another feature of someone's "bad design".

Well, this is the park with an attraction with a certain acronym.

Sorry if this is controversial, but this walkway does get insanely crowded with the parade, so I am hoping these can either be relocated or repositioned to open up that space. Course the path from Big Thunder to HM will be the real game changer.
Something we could never envision with ROA (yes, I miss ROA, don't misunderstand): A new parade route through Villain's Land, past HM, then left at the Liberty Square market continuing as before. A longer route with wider walkways. Not saying this will happen but it's possible.

I mean….. we have MILF operating daily at the MK - that’s way worse than westward ho!

Then we hop over to DHS to hop on the…

Too bad Pizza Planet no longer exists…because how fitting would it be for PP next to the Alien Swirling Saucers?

Sadly, it was converted to PizzaRizzo in what could only be described as a PR move.

Now let’s all grab some popcorn buckets.

Yes, though nuanced. Frontierland includes more sociology because the frontier was not only (a constantly moving) geographic place, but the location of a historically significant and tragic social interaction between the people coming from the East and the people who were already there. Massacres, forced removals, and other atrocities occurred precisely along "the frontier."

Westernland also refers to the geographic areas "in the West" (it's a word still centric to the European originating population of the East coast, and atrocities occurred all throughout "the West") but puts more focus just on the geography -- the compass direction -- more than the fringe of heightened violence as the European-descended migrated across North America. It's less "loaded" so to speak.

To me, neither is a good name for the area of Magic Kingdom moving forward given the mixed up time periods and geographic settings of the attractions.
What about “Wildernessland”?
