I thought the Mario movie was an absolute snoozer. The new one looks even worse. Oh wow, this CGI scene reminds of the same CGI cutscene from the game!

Remember he is producing this through his production company, Seven Bucks Productions, as his is friend's production company Flynn Pictures. Both have produced much of Rock's career over the last decade.

So Disney isn't likely pushing this as so much as its Rock pushing it.

This looks similar to the Stitch remake, which I loved, but I still question if it’s been long enough since the original to be successful, I also wonder if Stitch’s success marked an end of remake fatigue or if it was just an anomaly.

I look forward to giving this a chance on D+ though.

I won’t be surprised if it does huge numbers though simply because of Moana 2, I didn’t even find it worth finishing on D+ but it made bank so there’s obviously a huge audience for more Moana.

Yeah, I still haven't seen the end of Moana 2. And I think that will hurt this film even though it's a remake of 1.
