News Disney Springs Bus Service to Resorts Now Requires Reservation Verification

The difference in the contemporary parking lot is night and day.

Same with AKL.

We no longer have had to park all the way in the back of the lot when arriving for breakfast reservations and watch people exit their cars and walk directly over to MK or get in line for the AK bus.
Why would you be parking in the back of the lot if the problem was people walking to MK? People walking to MK park in the back of the lot near the walkway, not near the main building where you want to park if you’re eating breakfast inside. Also, how long were you sitting in your car glaring at people walking to the AK buses to form any kind of accurate picture of how many people were doing it? And how do you know those people parking and walking weren’t staying at the AKL?

…that appears to be “fishing for offense”…in my opinion

Many of the “complaints” from modern Disney fans are self soothing and justification for paying too much…

I don’t know if you’ve heard…but it’s “luxury” now? 🙄

This is Exactly what Eisner’s “message of Support” for joshie poo was last month…it was actually a criticism/warning of how badly things have been handled by the emperor. Who I’ll remind…was a throw in he begrudgingly took to buy abc.

“Treat everyone like a VIP” was not just a couple of words thrown together. It’s the problem. Don’t put up more walls

Are people visiting Disney world, without a car, wrong to want to use Disney Transportation?
Of course not.

But if they are not staying on property, then it’s their responsibility to find a way to make use of the transportation in accordance to Disney’s rules.

I really do not see why it’s so crazy to give priority to guests who paid extra for the convenience of staying on property at one singular location at the whole resort only a few times a year.

To your scenario though I’m not sure how a family that doesn’t have a car with them in Orlando is really impacted by this at all. If they do not have a car with them then the issue of paying to park at the parks is non-existent, and therefore there’s no need for them to start at Springs when they would need to Uber or Lyft there if staying at an off property hotel. And if for some reason they were doing that to get a bus at Springs, it just as easy to get to a resort to use their bus without restriction than it is to get to Disney Springs. If they don’t have a car with them they’d have to ride share to a bus location no matter what anyway and at that point why not just ride share to the parks?

I

Not that I think it particularly matters, but how often have folks on here been unable to park at their resort because the hotel lots are too full? I’ve never encountered this - how often have others?
Twice at Bay Lake in a week (Christmas week though). Once we got free valet parking at the Contemporary, the second time our car was parked in the CM parking lot further along the road opp Space Mtn).
Once at Beach Club (February). DH had to park at Swolphin.

Yacht and Beach are the only ones where I’ve experienced a problem (just once) and I was under the impression that was largely because they eliminated a lot of parking in order to build the DVC expansion but I might be mistaken.

Social media ruining things once again. "Work from home at a Disney resort" etc etc. It’s always a balance of wanting people to be able to see the resorts to access dining and shopping and hopefully as a way to encourage guests to book a room in the future. But locals just bussing themselves in to hang out or do their work can be annoying for people actually paying to stay there especially during peak weeks.

You mean in the colonies? 😉
Same year.
Honey, we gotta getcha out more 😎

So you haven’t been since the Covid crunch? And I assume the prior was sometime in the late 10s cluster years?

It’s not even close to the same place now. Double the price…but much more pleasant…because they’ve beaten people away by doubling the price.

I have to say…it’s a rather ingenious idea to break up the monotony of Orlando…

But they’ll tire of the hassle of it quickly.

I don’t think alot of Disney fans who haven’t worked realize: central Florida sucks. It’s all low paid…low grade construction…85% service jobs…oppressive weather 9 months a year…and you don’t even get the ocean

Well there’s my scenario. Guests staying at the village resorts who walk over to Disney Springs and want to use a bus to get anywhere afterwards. Those are on property but non-Disney resort guests.

Maybe a family parks at studios and wants to get lunch at polite pig before heading back to studios for the 2nd half of the day. How do they get back?

Don't all those resorts still off their own free bus service to the parks?

Why wouldn't they just take their car? How are they getting to Springs from Hollywood Studios in the first place?

They wouldn't get to Polite Pig to begin with, buses don't run there or back.
