News D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event 2026 in Anaheim

same with losing the hat and the Movie Ride within two years of each other.
"it's better than nothing" ...but .....sadly there's less and less beauty behind those beautiful WDW facades.

Started in/with WDW's Main Street imo. Main Street West is now almost-entirely a JCP. Main Street East is a bit less bad.

I saw a recent video of DL's Emporium...it still has charm in spite of doing a similar (but much smaller) "expansion."

ohhh...it wasn't worth the "trade." You've helped convince me that, at least to-date, 1994-2007 was the peak of SSE. From the first time I rode the current version in 2007, I still keep cringing at certain points, and if you cut me some slack from the initial "shock/surprise" of the "new" ending being there in the first place, I never not hated the new ending (especially when contrasted with the magnificence of the 1994 ending)

I just never not hated that wand.

And I may be "all by myself" on this one...but...as "nice" as the new lights are......I still prefer the former nighttime outdoor SSE lighting.

Something about it was most-soothing for me.
I actually like the new lighting package. I could have lived without it if I could get ROE back, but I will admit it is probably one of the few actual improvements of the re-imagining other than the entrance.

it's certainly not bad...and I'm very happy it gave new life/popularity/appeal to the building...and it was one of the parts of the "redo" that didn't outright s***....and I certainly acknowledge that I'm in the superminority (maybe even "of 1") for still preferring the "old" way.

Time for a thread resurrection, as we approach D23 this year, I have to imagine badge on sale date information have to be coming up this week or next week?

EDIT: For reference, badges were announced to go on sale on January 10th for 2024’s expo. With actual sale taking place on March 26th.
I’m hoping that badges go on sale no earlier than mid-March as I will be on a cruise the first few days of March.

I've been obsessively checking my email and the website for any news. Planning for D23 is the only thing keeping me semi- sane right now. I feel like it's got to be soon.
I did notice on the website that it says priority registration will be given to "Gold Members on the essential, choice, and complete plan." There's no mention of a Disney Visa presale this time, so I wonder if they're doing away with that perk. And if that's the case, I'm wondering if it's going to be just one presale for all Gold members, or if it's going to be split, with the highest-tier members getting the first shot, and the people on the lowest-tier "essential" plan going second.

The Expo website says "D23 Gold Members on Essential, Choice, and Complete plans will receive priority access to purchase tickets." I'm labeled as a "Monthly" Gold member on my account. So I'm assuming I would need to upgrade in order to get potential priority access? I didn't pay much attention when the Disney+ promo came out since it lined up well with my renewal date, but sounds like it's an entry tier that doesn't get all the same perks?

I wouldn’t do anything till we have more information. I am already a choice member though.

Thanks for sharing! Looks like they're finally going to get me to upgrade to the choice plan. It seems like it will be necessary in able to score tickets, considering how presales went last time. And it's a pretty good deal. I also see that the membership kit comes with a $25 off coupon to "any D23 event." I'm assuming that means the expo as well? Does this mean we would actually get a discount this year?
Still no exact ticket sale date, but I'd assume based on when eligibility expires, it'll be around the first week in April. It would be great to have something concrete, though. Hopefully soon.
My plans have unfortunately hit a snag. My work scheduled a mandatory in-service day the Friday of the expo, after I had put in my time off request, and they denied me. And missing an in-service day has long-term repercussions, so I'm stuck. I'd usually get into Anaheim on Thursday evening, to have time to rest and hang out in the area before the event starts. Now I'll be lucky to get there in time to spend more than an hour or two at the expo on Friday before it closes for the day. Being a responsible adult sucks sometimes.

Tony over delivers like crazy - I can’t imagine what all he will show and tell!

Were you in the room for his presentation on Hyperion Bay at D23 / Destination? Best thing I’ve ever witnessed in my life!

I’m hoping that we get some sort of ticket information this week or next. Although, the current airfare prices ($479 from Tampa to LAX) really has me considering changing my plans (my family is intent on going).

Gotta admit after that disastrous runDisney marathon weekend registration I am more nervous about getting D23 badges.

The silence has been deafening hope we get some answers soon. Beyond early April

Buy refundable tickets now because prices will go up with the rising cost of gas fuel....
