News D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event 2026 in Anaheim

Saving this image here so it's documented for a couple years from now.

These seats are bookable and did add to my cart just fine 8 hours after general sales. Kind of odd seats to have not been taken, I get the flanks and the solos. Sections 104 and 106 have just single seats left for the most part (other than near the secondary stage I kind of think those are a bad deal).

It doesn’t really make sense that you could still buy all 3 single days but hey… it’s $20 worth of extra processing fees. Mickey needs the money 🙈

Did you get into Honda at all?

Yeah, this might be me being my usual cynical self, but it feels like there were a lot more single-day passes than weekend passes just so that they could charge us more in fees.
I didn't get the Honda Center. By the time it was my turn, only the really expensive seats were left, and I don't usually attend the "big three" panels anyway. So I'm content.

Same here. I would have liked to go to the parks panel, that’s the only one I’ve ever gone to in years past when you just waited in line. I tried to get Saturday in the Honda center but the only affordable seats disappeared when I clicked on them.

I frankly would not want to wait in line just to find out what part of my childhood they are going to destroy next.

I was at the very first D23 parks presentation in ‘09 when they finally revealed Star Tours II. Nothings ever gonna top that. No desire to see how they are going to lame-ify the villains land which could have been really exciting. Only thing that would get me hyped is a new Tomorrowland for Disneyland or at least return of the rocket jets+people over but that’s never going to happen.

I am so glad that I experienced the D23 Expo ten+ years ago, when it was casual and fun. This has gotten stupid crowded, and just not as fun. You used to be able to go to pretty much any panel you wanted if you got in line an hour or less before it. Now, not only is it ridiculously expensive, but you are not even guaranteed to see the panels at the convention center that you might want to see.

This.

Glad I went the one time I did, in 2015.
No way I would try to do it now as before…
Once was enough.

But hypothetically if I DID decide to go again, I would do one day at the convention center….no Honda Center.
I prefer the ‘smaller’ Events, and lately non-D23 related.

Retro Magic is where it’s at!

I miss those days, too. My first D23 was 2017, and even though it was starting to get crowded even then, it wasn't nearly like it is now. You didn't have to do battle for tickets, either. I got my tickets about a month before the event with no problems. 3-day passes were still on sale the week of, and for most days, you could just wander over on a whim and tickets were still available for that day. Now if you don't plan months ahead, you're out of luck. The biggest change is that now Disney and nerd culture are considered "cool," which of course isn't a bad thing. But it does make for more crowded events like this.
I still have a blast when I go, though. As long as you keep expectations reasonable and just go with the flow and have fun, it's a great time!

The last one I went to was hosted by Bob Chapek. (Gross I know) - But Dick Van came out in person to dance with chimney sweeps for the Mary Poppins announcement. Totally worth it - once in a lifetime to be in the room.

Particularly since the production values have increased quite significantly with the shift to the Honda Centre. That was my first one and it is once in a lifetime.

Come online for the announcements, attend in person for the “broadway” of the weekend.

If anybody has the coupon book that came with the D23 membership kits, there is a $25 off coupon for any D23 event. This coupon CAN be used for D23. You have to email D23 guest services with either a photo of the coupon or the code on the coupon, plus the transaction number. I did this earlier and D23 has already processed the $25 rebate.
Thanks! I had tried to use the coupon and it wouldn’t accept. Wasn’t going to worry about it after the 2 hours in the queue! Haha

Thank you for this heads up! I was panicking through the buying process and the second I clicked to submit the order I realized I completely forgot to put in my $25 coupon code haha.

I just emailed them! Thanks again!

Your childhood is not destroyed by Disney replacing attractions, and it’s this type of dramatic overreaction that makes this whole process absolutely insufferable.

You still have all of those experiences and memories and nothing Disney does is going to take that away.

This “destroying my childhood” thing people do online now any time some sort of legacy company or artist does something is so silly.

And frankly? It’s also self-centered. To place one’s self at the center of something that has nothing to do with them for the sake of complaint and discourse is very odd.

Eh… even the late great Adam the woo has a video entitled “Disney destroyed my favorite theme park” - I can’t really say I disagree. Studios was once my favorite park, now it’s my least favorite in Florida for sure.

Sure it’s a bit of an exaggeration- but everything about the Disney parks panel at d23 will be an extra hyped exaggeration so it seems the fans can have the same liberty haha.
