MK Cinderella Castle Set to Return to Classic Color Scheme

Will they also be repainting the roofs on the standalone turrets? With the castle looking great, the turrets now look a little faded.

Those are done:

I actually rather like the extra gold, though it is a bit odd to have one set of gargoyles white and the other gold.
I’m guessing this is a jerryrigged fix to the fact cameras have become better at night vision and zoom in the 50 years since the castle was built and Disney does not want pictures of Tink (potentially not being fully show ready) climbing up a ladder to get into place.
If that’s the logic, I’d be curious to know why they didn’t just put up a weather-proof curtain of some sort. Feels like that would be the easier solution and would not look strange on zoom, night or day.

Indeed, I just wish they would have this much reverence and restraint when renovating certain other parts of the park which this certainly is a convenient distraction from.
I mean, there's nothing to say that they won't continue to put care and restraint into further renovation at Magic Kingdom. They've been doing great restorative work all over the resort the last few years, especially where EPCOT is concerned (and no I don't mean the hub re-do, I mean the TLC that's been put into things like Living with the Land).

Agreed the minor wins have been awesome

  • LwtL lighting and other minor upgrades
  • The Seas facade paint and new signage (interior and exterior)
  • The Seas return of dive chamber
  • World Showcase facade refurbs (with the exception of the Morocco Tile Tragedy of 2024)
  • World Showcase themed pavement redos
  • Metal panels refurb on Project Tomorrow and Epcot's parking plaza
  • The very very minor fixes in SSE (lightning effects, Phoenician boat rocking, etc)
  • MK's killer bathroom refurbs
  • Storybook Circus tent refurbs
  • Haunted Mansion facade refurb
  • Country Bears redo
  • BTMR retrack
  • Buzz refurb
  • Castle repaint
  • Tomorrowland design slow burn adjustments (signage, new Astro Fizz booth, etc)
  • TSL and SWGE shade structures and seating areas (again took too long, but hey they exist now)
  • TSL new snack booth
  • Resort facade refurbs (WL, Yacht, Beach, Boardwalk I think?)
  • I'm sure I'm missing lots more but that's off top of my head
  • Feedback from eddie104
    • Various Monorail refurbs
    • Adventureland signage refresh
    • Main Street USA station refurb
    • Ferryboat refurb and dock expansion
    • Refurbished Roger E. Broggie Locomotive
    • Mission Space facade and plaza repaint/refurb
  • Feedback from Timothy_Q
    • New Adventureland themed pavement
    • New Frontierland themed pavement in a couple spots, likely to extend across entire land
    • New Harambe covered seating area
    • Fixed decade old broken drip effect on TOT queue

I know there's still plenty of neglected stuff. And yea this is a celebration of work they should've been doing on a consistent basis in the first place, but I'll take the wins

Tomorrowland has got to be moved up to the top of the refurb list... A complete refresh of the entry into Tomorrowland and an overhaul of the content... Get rid of Monsters, replace the terminally shuttered Stitch, Completely overhaul the Speedway to actually fit a Tomorrowland theme, New track, music, and effects for Space Mountain, and a wholly new attraction...It is time... I would have been much happier with a comprehensive Tomorrowland overhaul over the Piston Peak thing we are getting.... It would have added capacity and would have fit the framework of the park...

I’m almost certain that Space, Speedway and Stitch are the next big projects.

Which order they go in is the question.

While the past doesn't necessarily determine the future, the way Disney has treated those attractions in the past means they will continue as-is. There have been plenty of opportunities and rationales to have taken advantage of with regard to these attractions, and they haven't done anything except to keep them as is, even it if means complete neglect or constant repair.

I would argue that putting Tron in TL was the alternative to changing Space drastically. Plus, more guest capacity and LL$$$
