Charging on MagicBand at kiosks

10 days until we arrive at WDW. Just in time for the last day of the Flower and Garden show. We plan to charge our food to our MagicBand. Do all of the kiosks offer this option? What about the other parks? Are there locations where we wouldn't be able to charge to the MagicBand and therefore would need cash or a card in order to pay? Any information would help.

Nope haven't seen once place not accept it. Even at a sit down, the waitress/waiter will come over with a handheld device that scans your band. Might still be safe to carry a little cash, but that's for different reasons. Enjoy Epcot, love it there even more so during the spring!

This is why i like the magic band concept, it was nice last year to charge everything to the credit card linked to our room key. No digging for money and this time i don't even have to dig for a card (just hoping the band will be comfy).

Side question..anyone know if you can pick what magic bands have cards linked to them? I imagine they would since children have their own magic bands. Or maybe if we have 4 people on a reservation, me and my wife on one credit card linked to our bands, and her parents with their own credit card linked to their bands. Anyone know if this is possible?

As mentioned, all registers at WDW now take touch to pay with Magic Bands - kiosks, and all.

Yes you can designate certain charging privilege to certain bands.

Oh my daughter is so going to hate that :)

Oh, trust me, you don't want her to go wild. My daughter knows it will be her LAST trip to WDW that parent pays for if she charges anything to my Disney Visa I don't approve in advance.

I haven't had a problem. Since mine is linked to my Disney Visa (and I want my points!), I usually pull out the old card since I haven't figured out if I get points using the MB link. Plus I have to show my AP discount card, so I still need to pull out a card of some sort.

Mine is an adult and has her own credit card, but she would sneak in an expensive purchase on mine if I wasn't watching. And then give me that so sweet smile our daughters are so good at..... :)

It appears if the children are not 18 years old in MDE they can't charge, but maybe I'm doing something wrong.

I would hope Disney has figured how to prevent a 15 year old from going wild at World of Disney or Mouse Gear on parent's card. But then there is probably a 15 year old who would figure out how to get around that....

I would buy some for me so I could use it on her :)

You know, I tried it once. I got the "doesn't work for you" dismissive look they are also so good at doing. Oh, to be young again and have my parent wrapped around my little finger....with just a smile.

OP, the only place that I can recall would be the balloon vendors, and possibly some of the other roaming vendors like the glow carts. Any quasi permanent location should have a normal register with RFID tap pad and accept MBs.

You do get the points when using a MB. Using the MB simply adds to the running total back at your hotel room. Then then run that against the card on file. As long as the card on file is your Disney Visa, then it goes through and you get the points. Disney running a tab against your room saves them a fortune in not paying the card swipe fees every single time.

Dreamfinder, thanks for the info. I wasn't sure and trying to get an answer from Chase is like trying to heard cats.

One thing with some of the smaller non-permanent stands (like an ice cream cart) is that the card readers operate on a secure wireless network. These can sometimes go down when there is lightning in the area that temporarily disrupts the network. So it's a good idea to have a little bit of cash handy just in case.
