Trip Report A Disney Year: a recap of 2025

Hello! It’s been awhile since I have done a trip report. I always think I’m going to post one and then I don’t. I’m not disciplined enough to do a live report either. Well I decided to do a recap of highlights of my trips this year to WDW and Disneyland.

The people involved: me (Amy) and Brad (my husband)

Trips: January (WDW), March (Disneyland), April (WDW), June (WDW), July (Disneyland)

Reasons for travel: quick check up on my dad, DL Food and Wine, Easter and visiting my niece on the college program, just for fun, celebrating Disneyland’s 70.

The picture was taken at Cast Connections store. The store sells old props, overstock, and groceries at a discount to cast members. I think the MGM sign was for sale above it.
I knew it was at cast connections. I just wasn’t sure where Horace was from before that. If it’s not attached to the sign in the back maybe it’s from all star sports?

Saturday April 19

This morning I met up with A again and my sister was in town. So we went to breakfast at my favorite breakfast place in WDW: Trattoria al Forno. Then we headed to Hollywood Studios. At the Studios we started with Rock n Roller Coaster and did a couple other attractions until it was Baseline Taphouse time. After Baseline, I had some lightning lanes (they decided not to buy lightning lanes) so I had some fun solo time at Tower, Slinky Dog, and Mickey & Minnie's. I used to love Tower of Terror and I still like it but Guardians at DCA is just more fun. We met up again for Muppets, Smuggler's Run, and Rise (single rider). By then my brother-in-law joined us. The three of them had plans for the night, I don't remember what they did. But I went to Epcot for the rest of the night.

Saturday April 19

I enjoyed the topiaries and food and drinks of the Festival. It was just fun meandering around. I did help save the world or whatever on Guardians. I can't remember the song I got, although I'm about 90% sure it was September. It was not "I Ran" which is the only song I had never had on this attraction. I was excited for the strawberry sake in Japan, I had it before and liked it but this time it was a disappointment. I enjoyed the beer in Japan though. Then I watched the Flower and Garden concert, it was a guy that had been in Billy Joel's band. I enjoyed a beer flight during one of the shows. I also some some art work I liked but did not purchase.

Never had the pizza from the pizza window in Italy, it was good. Next time I would ask for a center piece, there was a bit too much crust on the edge piece for me.

It was really nice just wandering around at night. I watched Impressions de France and found a place at a fenceline just as Luminous was starting and enjoyed the show. After the show I made a slow loop around World Showcase and enjoyed some of the Flower and Garden decor at night before heading back to the resort.

Sunday April 20: It's Easter!

My sister, A, and my brother-in-law picked me up at the Sports and we drove over to the Polynesian. We were having breakfast together at Kona Cafe. My second favorite breakfast. I had the Kona pressed pot (although Trattoria's is better) and the loco moco. After breakfast we traveled to the Magic Kingdom together but then split up for the rest of the day. They wanted to do Tron and then go to the water park. I had a lightning lane later for Tron and I did not want to do a water park. So I enjoyed a very Magic Kingdom morning at a relaxed pace. And I did not do Tiana's Bayou, Disneyland's had traumatized me so I decided to wait and ride it in June with Brad. I rode the train and was sad that Big Thunder was down.

April 20: Easter Sunday

It was time for Tron, an Easter egg roll snack, some Dapper Dans (yes only 3 of them were at this show), the piano player, some, WDW band, and then it was time for my Easter tradition so I headed out of the Magic Kingdom. I was headed to the Polynesian to put my name on the list for Trader Sam's. The last 5-6 years I have been solo at a Disney park at Easter so my tradition has been Trader Sam's, it's a fun tradition. I deliberately picked a later flight so I could have time for Trader Sam's before flying out today.

Easter Sunday April 20

Back to the Polynesian and there was time to kill before I was going to be called to be inside of Trader Sam's so I had a couple drinks on the terrace. One was for sure a tiki tiki tiki tiki tiki rum and I think the other was a zombie. Once inside I sat a table with some fun people and had a mai tai and another tiki rum with some chicken wraps. It was a fun way to close out my trip. I thought about taking Disney transport back to the All Star but the Uber was quicker. Once at the All Star I changed and got a Uber to the airport. I had done the free MSP Reserve and I after I checked my bag with the airline I was through security in about 5 minutes.

Once home it was time to start planning the June WDW and this time my husband would be joining me.

You do so good at selfies! I am pretty bad at it, so my pictures rarely include them. Waiting for the next installment - we haven't seen Brad in awhile!

I was really bad at selfies when I first started my solo trips, it just took some more practice and more trips! Brad will be showing up soon.

Yay, an Amy report!!! Thank you for catching us up on all your adventures!!

Thanks, I'm glad you like the adventures.

3rd full park day
More of the Dapper Dans and then explored some of Disneylands attractions including Big Thunder MT.

I love the astronaut Mickeys on Mickeys Star Traders and how they light up as if he is floating. I probably stood and watched longer than an average guest.

And ended the night with Chocolate peanut butter squares, one to eat and a few to take home. I may have quite a few of these in my freezer at home.

Can't wait to get my hands on a peanut butter square during my next trip. What a great idea to watch the fireworks from Galaxy's Edge! Loving the recap :)

4th full park day
This day I went to Disneyland. I was a little early and the porch which used to be a lingerie shop when the park first opened was free. It’s kind of a big deal for Disneylanders to sit on the bench at the porch. There was one regular guy named Frank who was often there and sadly he passed away this year, but I did get to sit on the porch with him one last time. He was always kind of fun to talk to a little ruff, but still a nice guy.

Once the park opened, I explored fantasy land, which is my favorite thing to do on my Disneyland days. Mornings are always the best time for fantasyland. The queue for Mickey’s Runaway railway was a walk on and it’s fun to explore the queue because it is so much different and then Hollywood Studios. Then I decided it was time to try Tiana‘s that story will be in the next post.

Mornings are always the best time for fantasyland
This is SUCH a true statement! My first Disneyland morning was my birthday last year, and having spent that morning in Fantasyland was so relaxing and peaceful. Best birthday morning I've had in literal years!
