World Showcase...

So next Friday I'm planning on doing Future World in the morning, then returning to world showcase in the early evening. Is it worth parking at the boardwalk and entering through the international gateway, rather than parking in Epcot's main lot?

If that us all you are planning to do that night then yes. The international gateway drops you off in between UK and Canada.

If you are staying for IllumiNations, yes. I have found it to be less of a hassle when exiting through the gateway than the thousands pouring out of the main entrance at IllumiNations end, plus Boardwalk is really neat to wonder through at night time.

Yes. I stayed at the Boardwalk last week, so we took the International Gateway entrance every time and now I won't do it any other way. It's far less crowded getting in & out. There really wasn't a line at all. Plus, when you enter that way, World Showcase isn't open yet so you will be directed to Future World. You can get some great pictures on your way with no people around. We thought it was very calm & beautiful walking in that way with few people around.
