what is a mission: space blanket?

hi everyone! i recently went on m:s - it was great! when i went into the gift shop i saw a whole rack of m:s "space blankets" and meant to ask one of the cms what they were but forgot... does anyone know what these things actually are? i'm curious and might try to order one. thanks!

Do you mean to tell me that you don't have a "space blanket" in your car? :lol:

After the blizzard of '78, EVERYONE went out and bought one! (My SIL was stuck in her car for over 8 hours)

They are mylar blankets that are SUPPOSED to be able to keep you warm if you are stuck in the cold. They are about the size of a cheap poncho.

Every Fireman in our local Vol dept. has one in his bag. A mylar blanket to keep you warm in case of emergency. I have them in my emergency kit in the car. They can be bought in WalMart. :wave:

ohhhh... ok i get it. thanks for the responses. i just sort of figured the ones at m:s would be different in some way.

You pay about $5 (or more; I haven't seen them) extra for the M:S logo! Sort of like the WDW ponchos. :lol:

Ahh, winter, what a lovely time. My mom just made me put my two extra sets of clothes, the extra jacket, and 3 blankets in my car incase something happens. Gotta love winter!

Since this is Florida they should make a blanket that keeps you COLD. Or maybe you are just supposed to eat that freeze dried ice cream they sell
