I hope that's not the only way they plan on showing the rose. They need to have an animatronic rose in the West Wing Dining room, or I will be really upset!

The details just keep on getting better. I'm hoping that the exteriors continue to move at a fast pace because from the completed elements shown it's looking like, hopefully, there isn't much more to do inside the restaurant...

So, if you were actually able to see the menu, is there any way you can confirm something?
Is there some form of "Grey Stuff" on it? I thought the concept was cute at first, but I've gotten to the point where I've read one too many posts mentioning "the grey stuff, it's delicious" that it's kind of starting to get on my nerves. Any way we can put this one to bed once and for all?

I've always thought this was so obvious, but I keep seeing people ask about "the gray stuff" from the song.

The gray stuff is pate...which is goose liver.

If you've never had it before, it's very thick and creamy like frozen butter and tastes very fatty like it was soaked in bacon grease. It's very overpowering stuff...a little goes a long way. Some people love it. I've never liked it.

California banned its sale as cruel to animals. Some major cities like Chicago also ban it.

Pate will never be served in a Disney park. So if you want to try "the gray stuff" you need to go to a fancy restaurant in a state where it's not yet been banned or look in your Whole Foods for it.

Another thing I'll say about "the gray stuff" is that Disney is very foolish not to include this in some way, since people will constantly ask about it. It's one of those things I just don't understand why they can't see in advance.

Since "the gray stuff" in the cartoon was clearly pate (served as an h'ors deouvre to Belle on a little cracker) and Disney can't serve that in the parks...they could VERY easily create a small amuse bouche to present to the tables that would be a mousse of wild mushrooms...it could be gray and vegetarian and offered at the start of the evening table service meals as a little "hello" from the kitchen. The server could have a fun line by saying, "try the gray stuff, it's delicious" and everyone preoccupied by the song would be able to get that out of the way.

For the life of me, I don't understand TDO sometimes. I think the problem is that the executives don't actually watch the cartoons like the fans do. So they don't anticipate what guests will want to see or experience at an attraction until it's too late.

I small amuse bouche at the beginning of the meal that is attributed to "the gray stuff" would really set the scene and cost Disney very little. An amuse bouche, for those who don't know, is meant to be one small bite of something flavorful that kicks off the meal. Nice restaurants do this as a "gift from the chef" and it's always something very pretty, very small, and just a nice way of making you feel welcome at the table.

I think you may be confusing Pâté for Foie gras

Foie gras is a kind of pate.

One of the things I find most interesting about the Internet is people who enjoy rushing to correct others online...especially when those "correctors" aren't correct in their correcting. I'd love to know more about the psychology that drives you to do this. Is it a way to get attention for yourself?

Foie gras is a spécial kind of pate. Not all pates are banned in some places, just foie gras because animal rights activists have argued that the fattening of the geese to create the foie gras is cruel.

"Pate" is a generic term for any meat that is turned into a spread...and in the film Beauty and the Beast the "gray stuff" could be a number of different kinds of meat spreads on a cracker, which is what was animated.

Maybe you can spend a little more time doing your research before going into correction mode next time.

this makes me supppper excited :) i cannot wait to eat there.

I bet you could have a special event there. It appears there will be several rooms. Depending on how big your party is, maybe you could book one of the smaller rooms for your wedding party.

I think that would be one of the most memorable wedding parties ever. Can you imagine? Usually these things are a little dull...but YOURS would be a ticket to MK and a meal at Beauty and the Beast and lots of fun.

If you can pull it off, you better take pictures and share with everyone!
