Yes, I always liked the lap bars because it gave me something to really hold on to dear life with. Although they still do have those little rubber hold on to things. I always like the lap bar more.

I actually like the belts, due to the fact that you can't hold on to anything. That kinda increases the thrill for me...

There was this CM who said she went on the ride right after it was set up and it had no lapbets, or ANYTHING. she said she had to lay down, and got SOO much air time! She said it scared her soo much she didn't go on it another time untill two years laters.

Ps. She was working on the ride, Painting, and making certin parts of the lobby for the ride..

With the lapbars it just seemed more.. Scary.. I had alot of fun actually floating in my seat, because the bar only went down to the largest person sitting in the row. So if you were a kid like me back when they had them, you went all OVER the place! I could see why they changed it to seatbelts though.

I never got the chance to ride ToT with the lapbar, so I only have seatbelt experiences to relate. I don't usually get scared of rides, but every time I sit in a ToT seat and I have a little kid next to me flapping his arms and grabbing things wildly to hang on I get tripped out. I always see the impossible happening, the kid grabs my seatbelt release, for some odd reason the belt releases and I go flying out the ToT windows. I know that there are a lot of safety devices in rides, but something about a wild child throws me for a loop.

That's a very unique, but understandable fear.

I have only been on it with the lap bar, and loved it. The seatbelt idea doesn't seem like it would be as exciting. I love airtime on rides.

At least it doesn't have shoulder harnesses.

Even with the lapbar I often requested the middle seat in the back row that has always only had the seat belt. I think there's a feel of less restraint and adds to the anxiety and the overall experience. I love the seat belts.

Don't give them any ideas!!!
I would seriously stop going to disney if they did that. Tower of Terror is my favorite ride and its what I look forward to riding everytime I go. Its the first thing I look for as we are coming up on Disney from the interstate
