Breaking news from the 7-11 near Downtdown Disney

A suspect is dead and an Orange County deputy was injured — possibly stabbed — at a convenience store near Lake Buena Vista this morning.

Shots were fired at about 10:35 a.m. inside a 7-Eleven on State Road 535 and Palm Parkway.

The deputy, whose name has not been released, was injured during what may have been an attempted robbery. The deputy may have been stabbed in the neck, WESH.com is reporting. Shots were fired at some point during the confrontation.

It's unclear what preceded the shooting.

A suspect is dead inside the store, officials said.
