EPCOT Spaceship Earth refurbishment coming soon?

SSE was on the struggle bus yesterday. Mammoth curtains all bunched up, phoenician boat not rocking, six stops in one ride, and star projector at the top had huge blank sections and weird artifacts projecting

What does this mean?
Idk how to describe it, it was like a glare that cast weird light on the ceiling. But like green lines almost like reflecting off a gem? I’m not very eloquent. Kinda just seemed like a broken projection or something was in the way that was reflecting thru it. Video would’ve been logical but I didn’t do it

I believe that tends to happen when the matrix tunnel projection that often does not work anyway sometimes often bleeds into 180 top.

This is just another WDW attraction that's being left to slowly die. Minimum maintenance done to keep it limping along. While we all clamor for worthy updates for anchor attractions, we get more food huts, nasty upcharge desserts, and more hotel rooms. I honestly hope all the projects that have broken ground are actually ground breaking in effect/scope/effort. The wow factor isn't there anymore, with the pumping out mediocre fare. Besides Cosmic Rewind, the last 15 (!) years has been meh.

Sad but true, unfortunately. I mean, it was planned during COVID, for what was supposed to be a massive overhaul. The Chapeck years happening at the worst time (but maybe better that the extent of his cutbacks were revealed then, honestly) really set them back, but the cancellations at Epcot were vast, and now require a whole new budget expense. I'm not quite as pessimistic, as we now have a new CEO, and one who's not just a fill-in. I realize that because of the delay, the overhaul is now colliding with the budgets of ongoing projects at every other park... However, this park probably needs fast-tracking. At least, both Spaceship Earth and Imagination do, and there are other numerous attractions that just need some upgrades. I do think that they can do the rest in phases, if necessary.

In the D23 predictions thread, I mentioned that not only do they need to address the cancelation situation with Spaceship Earth, and provide a path forward for the entire front side of Epcot, but I think that they also really should provide some sort of recognition and something resembling an apology for falling short of expectations. I know that this may sound silly to some, but a little bit of humility, and saying "We hear you, and we won't back down again!" at these press events goes a lot further than most people are willing to admit. Admitting your past mistakes is really the best way to earn trust, IMO.

Epcot needs to be the flagship park of the future that it once was back in the 80s and 90s, and not the frumpy cousin park with tattered clothes, and I am hoping that this isn't lost on D'Amaro. Spaceship Earth is Epcot's castle, and what's inside needs to really be a pristine representation of the entire vision of what the park represents, and not just something you keep putting duct tape on to keep going!

All of this.

Chapek ruined the entire Epcot redo plus C19 didn’t help at all. We need some new things before it’s 50th birthday to make up for lost time and money.
