Shanghai Disneyland from a first timers view

You can get away with one full busy day at both, I think. If they aren’t the main reason, it’s completely doable.

I’d Consider lopping off Tron, SDMT and Soaring to preserve the smaller experiences, as I think SDL will be the more stuffed and crowd contentious day.

The Jurassic ride is definitely the reason (possibly main and only) to bother with USBJ.
I find it peculiar that Epic looks like a step up from both Beijing and Britain.

It’s absolutely a step up. Which is why I’m so hard on the former and probably the latter if it is built as it seems to be.

There’s basically one main product in Orlando now and a bunch of smaller and inferior offerings elsewhere. At least Disney’s alternatives are largely a series of interesting quality offerings worth seeing for their own reasons.

I just know I don't want to spend too much time at the park, honestly 4 nights at Tokyo Disney felt like too many, I wish we had left extra days for exploring around Japan instead 😅
Well if four nights at TDL is too long (two days each park?), then you don't need two days in the Chinese parks. Tokyo's parks are more dense, more developed. HKDL is the only one of the four Asian parks without excessive attraction wait times issues and can be done in one day. If you skip Soarin', Dwarf, Tron and most of Toy Story Land you can do Shanghai in one day too.

Personally when I visit the MK I do, say, MS + Adventureland for a full day, or one WS country and a few FW rides for an EPCOT day, but I'm at the extreme end of doing Disney slow and OCD.

We did 2 full days at TDS, and 1.5 at Disneyland. But we skipped a number of attractions due to crazy waits and them being duplicates from North America. It’s more about experiencing the parks and their atmosphere, food, then trying to ride everything, especially rides we’ve done already.

Rides I feel I would need to experience to feel satisfied:

Hong Kong:

Mystic Manor
Grizzly

Shanghai:

Pirates
Tron (haven’t ridden)
Zootopia
Seven Dwarfs (haven’t ridden)

The rest is honestly gravy for me 😅

But yeah, I could see doing 1 HKD, 2 Shanghai.

But might be able to swing 2 at both.

Add Ant and Iron Mans to Hong Kong. It also has a better version of Epcots Frozen and a unique Jungle Cruise.

Forget the coasters in Shanghai if you have to; they’re available elsewhere. If anything swap one for Soaring. Beautiful queue, amazingly different pre show and a different finale. And add Pan (best legacy style version but not a clone), Crystal Grotto, Buzz, Rapids, the Camp trails and the Alice Maze.

I definitely want to do the shooters, jungle cruise, and grotto. I just figure those will be easy enough to access (naive?).

Definitely interested in their version of Pan. It’s funny we’ve skipped Pan at both Tokyo and Disneyland CA 😅 Last Pan we rode was Paris in 2023.

I’ll do Frozen if time, definitely will check out the land. After riding in Tokyo not sure I care enough to bother unless it’s easy to access haha.
