PO Riverside Vs Coronado Springs?

Hi All!

I've stayed at Riverside before in 2016, and loved every minute of it. I'm planning a trip for September 2021 with my fiance, my parents and my brother and his girlfriend for 2 weeks (We're getting 3 separate rooms before anyone thinks I'm crazy :p). It's probably the last time we'll go on a trip to Florida altogether.
We're coming from the UK, and free dining aside (if that happens), it looks like Coronado Springs may be more budget-friendly for us than Riverside. I just have a couple of questions since I've never been at the resort!

  1. General opinions on CSR vs Riverside?
  2. My dad has had both hips replaced and my mum is waiting on a hip replacement, so ideally we'd need somewhere that's fairly central as they probably wouldn't be comfortable walking reaaally far. I know CSR seems to be closer to most things (other than Disney Springs), but is it alright transportation wise? Are the buses generally okay?
  3. I know Disney resorts are never really 'small', but I'd considered riverside because it has 4 bus stops (correct me if that's changed!) and it would hopefully mitigate the distance they have to walk. Is the distance from the bus stop to rooms in CSR generally quite high?
Any other tips and advice would be appreciated. My fiance and I are generally the crazy 12-hours in the parks kind of people, but I really want to pick a resort where it's easier for my parents to come back and chill in the afternoon. Budget-wise, deluxe resorts are out (I would if I could, believe me!)

Thanks for all your help :)

Actually, with the hip problems I would not recommend Riverside. Sure, there are the buses but you would basically be relying on them all day, even to go to the lobby or something.

For moderates I would recommend French Quarter, it is a compact resort so you would be fine walking to the lobby and pool, there is a boat to Disney Springs and a bus to the parks. It is also right next to Riverside so you could still get the boat and go there since you loved it before!

I also like Coronado as an option but only if you choose a Tower room. That would be amazing for your dad since the room would be right at the same building as the lobby and the bus stop! It is also one of the newest " resorts" so the rooms are new and in my opinion, stunning.

Other than that, moderate rooms can be pretty spread out and walking would be challenging.
