Petition for College Football Marching Bands

I know this has nothing to do with Disney, so I hope I'm putting it in the correct place.

After much frustration, I have started a petition to being back marching bands as halftime entertainment in college foorball games. The halftime periods of the games now are just a bunch of talking heads...

I played in my university marching band and then went on to a career playing in the air force band.

College bands just seem to add to the already AWESOME atmosphere of College Football! Give me a Saturday of NCAA Football over a Sunday of NFL Football any day!

Signed.. (Love colege bands.. Esp when they "move" heck.. they can out the commericals after or before the bands if they needed to.... just show the marhcing bands...

Marching bands DO add to the atmosphere. Without them, most cheers would not exist, or at least they wouldn't have any "oomph" added. They are as much a part as the football players. Plus, with exposure, it could help recruiting.

As a fan, I think that most of us would rather see highlights of other games during halftime on TV. Of course, if you go to the games, then you get to see the bands play at halftime. But I don't really see your point. Some casual fans might want to see other stuff at halftime, but I know that big college football fans want to know what is going on across the country (For example, to see how teams ranked ahead of them are doing or to see highlights of some great games earlier in the day).

Sorry to disagree, but I would be quite upset if they stopped showing highlights at halftime of regular season CFB games.

The different stations have the tickers at the bottom of the screen and they have shows in between games and news shows... I'm not saying take every minute of the halftime to broadcast the bands, it would be good to see the different schools' shows though... maybe take some time for both

Halftime shows don't take forever but neither do game analyses

Of course, you also have to remember that stations use halftimes to catch up on commercials as well. I guess they could show a little bit of the bands, but I don't really see the big deal in just showing a little bit. And like I said, there's probably not enough interest to show the entire performances.

They DO show the bands when they perform in bowl game halftime performances most of the time though.

But you have to remember that the games are the most important things and the bands are there to support the teams and creat a better atmosphere. And I have nothing but GREAT things to say about Tennessee's Pride of the Southland band. They are by far the best one I've ever seen and I enjoy watching them at halftime in Knoxville.

Yeah I have to admit that Tennesse has an AMAZING band. They are #2 on my list (with Ohio State as my #1.... but I am biased)!

I remember watching the Tennesse-Florida football game and just hearing the Tennesse band and how loud and upbeat they were during the entire game.

As for my list of the worst bands I have seen/heard! (with #1 being the worst)
1) University of Michigan Marching Banding - 3 words= HIGH SCHOOL BAND!! Also, AWFUL FIGHT SONG!
2) Michigan State Marching Band - Seriously, what college band has a "color guard" :lol:
3) Wisconsin Marching Band - Go back to the dairy farm!! :lol: Just Kidding
