Non Hopper ticket question

I have an old child Non Hopper with 2 days left on it. We plan on visiting 2 parks on our first day. Can my child use this ticket for 2 separate park admissions in one day? I don't want to buy a new hopper.

Disney tracks where the ticket goes. If this was allowed then people would not purchase the Park Hopping option as the multiday tickets quickly become cheaper.

You are correct. 10 day non hopper child approx $290
5 day child hopper approx $306. $16 difference-not much but a difference indeed. These variables would change slightly more to my advantage if you didn't hop every day.

If you are visiting for more than two days you'll have to buy another ticket for your child anyway.

You can use the old ticket to get into one park and a new ticket to get into a different park. That way you can "hop" between two parks on each of two days you're there without needing to pay for hopper add-on on the new ticket. :king:

However, if you plan to hop more than two days, you're better off just saving the old ticket for sometime when you only need two days or two hops during a visit. Adding hopper to a two or more day ticket costs the same amount, so hopping three or more days would just waste the old ticket if you used it.

I suppose your elaborative reply derserves this
Why?

A Disney theme park ticket (of the non-hopper variety) is a "one park per day" ticket. It gives you admission to one single theme park in a single day. It does NOT allow you to visit two different theme parks in a single day. WHY? There is no "common sense" answer to the question of why, it is simply Disney's rule. Disney says if you want to go to two or more theme parks in a single day then you need the park hopper option on your ticket.

There is common sense to it. Disney tickets are heavily front loaded. With each additional day the cost of the additional day goes down. On the fourth day it's about $11 and the fifth day onwards each additional day is about $8. The hopper addition is $55 on a multi day ticket. It's perfectly logical for Disney to not allow an entrance to a park for $8 and the ticket system is designed to encourage people to by more days and stay longer at WDW.

The previous point is more valid if you are talking about a ticket that will expire-the $8 days are cheaper than the hopper option. However, with say a 10 day non expire, the cost is really averaged out over the 10 days, leaving a nonimal monetary difference, but not a huge one.

Thank you Monty for your strategy-I will use it.
