MK Opening Day on NBC

I was watching the opening day of the MK, and Glenn Campbell was singing at the riverboat dock with the Admiral Joe Fowler docking behind him. I'm trying to find this song he was singing, he sings about "When I awoke this morning something inside of me told me this would be my day." "..can I touch the rain, so much to lose so much to gain." If anyone knows the song I'd be very grateful thanks.

Back then, Disney was very creative and wrote their own original music. Chances are, this is a song that is only available on that special.

Not sure if it's the same thing, but does anyone have the MK Opening Celebration or do you know when it will be on??

I am dying to see that footage of the CBJ, of which I am told it is almost half of the special!!

I would assume it would be on Vault Disney any time now...:)

Correct, they still do, but most of the music on the theme park specials is now being recycled.... For example, Walkin' Right Down the Middle of Main Street USA... used in both the EuroDisney opening special and also in, I think it was the 25th Anniversary Special.

There are a few others that have been recycled. I do see a lack of creativity in the new theme park specials.

Yeah I know, I keep hearing this "When you wish upon a star" song all ove the place! They're so cheap for playing that song all over the parks.

Well, it could be lack of creativity, but when they go to the trouble of getting someone to write a song for them, it is nice to hear it used later. If I were a song writer, I wouldn't really like it if they just used my song once. but then thats just me!

It is nice to hear it when Disney gets new songs made, though. (Its not like they are running out of places to play it!)
