I'm getting cautiously excited for this with every trailer/promo they do. This *might* be the meta story accomplishment they failed so painfully with for She-Hulk.

Then again, it may be awful and since I just can't resist anything with Trevor in it I will likely enjoy it anyway. :D

Who would have thought that Trevor would still be around after all these years!
Well, when you have Oscar-winning actors in your movies -- which are considered by the Academy to be a 'niche' genre -- you keep hammering that bell by keep playing your Oscar-wining and -nominated bench until the Academy relents.

MCU has over a dozen Academy winners and two dozen nominated in their films.

Irani Rael deserves her Oscar!!!!

Plus Sir Kingsley (don’t forget the sir, he is knighted after all) honestly enjoys playing the part. So why wouldn’t you use him every chance you get.

Speaking of more characters they need to use. We do need more Madisynn and Wong action, those two are comedy gold.

She Hulk was so fun (watched the whole season as part of an epic bachelorette weekend) and Madisynn was *chef’s kiss*

Looking forward to Wonder Man.

I should qualify that I hated his twist in Iron Man 3 the first time I saw it. But when Marvel just dug in with "All Hail the King", I was all in as a Trevor fan.

I will say that Kingsley's sheer glee in the role of a terrible actor sells it 1000%. The only thing comparably funny is Branagh in Harry Potter also playing an idiotic narcissistic lout. The best playing the worst is just... the best!

Binged it all last night. It was enjoyable and the leads were great but it seemed like another pointless side trip. And very, very "inside Hollywood". I'm actually surprised at how positive the reviews are - like, if you're from Iowa or Idaho or Illinois, do you relate to this show at all?

On the other side of that coin, I felt like if you removed the super power aspect entirely and replaced it with say, an autistic character who is socially awkward and obsessed with a particular movie finally making a friend... it doesn't change the show at all. Which makes me wonder, why was it necessary to tell this story in the Marvel Universe when it didn't have to be? The "Marvel" of it felt kind of irrelevant.

The little mermaid could just be about a girl ready to move out from her over-protective father. All fantasy and sci-fi could be told in a more mundane way.

I liked the show, but wanted more of the remake they were making and what was going to set this apart from all others. Also, I was expecting them to follow up on Doorman and Josh Gad, but kind of love that they just left it there. That's the kind of loose thread that is best revived long after it's forgotten.

I don't think Steve Rogers or Peter Parker or Kamala Khan's stories are the same if you remove the super hero aspect. This story would have been totally effective without it. If you can tell a super hero story without the super power, it's not an effective super hero story.

ETA: By contrast, the Doorman story was a super hero story because his powers were necessary to cause his specific dilemma. It's not just saying "A guy gets in over his head after becoming popular." Yes, it's that story, too, but what makes it unique are his
interdimensional powers, rescuing people from a burning building by going through him, swallowing an actor, etc. The only thing Wonder Man did was blow up a sound stage after having a particularly bad temper tantrum, but his power wasn't necessary to do that nor was it necessary for the story.
A super power was necessary for Doorman's story. That's the difference for me.

I've watched 3 episodes. I'm finding it kinda boring. I'm going to finish it, but only because it can be binged and the episodes are fairly short..
