Lightning Lane Premier Pass

Makes 2 of us. Would love to finally actually put to rest the illusion long lines will miraculously disappear if you eliminate all of these paid services
It would be interesting to see that. Too bad they would never do it as there is too much money to lose.

It would be interesting to see what the wait times would be if the CMs sincerely tried to maximize throughput on all attractions; run with fully loaded vehicles, use single rider every where to fill in seats, run all tracks in Sorin' etc.

This is a fun discussion but Disney will never stop the money train called Lighting Lane....

And actually use all four loading bays at Test Track. Every time I’ve been there they aren’t loading rows 7 or 8. One of the most popular rides at Epcot is basically running at 75% capacity because of this.

In my opinion, it is so easy for Disney to manipulate capacity. LL gives Disney incentive to throttle capacity.
A few years ago when I was there a group with matching shirts was behind me in the single rider line and they couldn’t find any small parties from the regular line so they sent an entire 3-seat row out empty just on principle so none of them could sit together.

Many disney guests (like myself) have come to expect the idea of skipping some lines on our disney vacation. If the only option for that was suddenly out of my budget... Disney becomes a less attraction vacation destination for me.

I'm not saying I would never go to disney... but it would be less frequent for sure.
I feel like a broken record, but it isn't always about affordability. For me, it is about value, which is why my last disney trip was in 2022.

We had that coming out of Covid. I went in October 2021 right before G+ came out (missed it my like 2 weeks I think).

For someone like me that knows the systems inside and out... it was my "worst"* Disney vacation because every line was a wait.

*I still had a great time, but the day's flew by and I missed some of my favorite rides that I've never missed with FP, FP+, G+, or LLMP
Also there in Oct 2021 and loved it.

Care to cite references to such posts? Because as far as I can remember, not a single person said anything of the sort.
I don't remember anyone using the phrase "miraculously disappear," but many believe it would affect the lines more than others do.

When someone points out that there would still be long lines for the headliners, they say true but 2 hours doesn't seem as long when you're constantly moving and talking to the people in line with you.

That depends greatly on the individual. If I had to wait in a 2-hour-long line and also talk to strangers I'm pretty sure security would be involved at some point. ;)

Oh I'm sure some people preferred it. I'm friends with the skip the line "monster" and it works well for me, so I personally lose value if I can't afford a skip the line service. However, for the value that I lose, someone else must be gaining that value (it might have been you).

Going back to my 2021 trip... the time in the days just suddenly was disappearing for me vs being able to plan stuff out. With whatever skip the line service is active... I just never wait more than 30 mins in any line.

Dang some people must have a lot of cash to burn. I can remember 10 years ago when we would go every year that getting 7-day park access with hopper was perhaps $1,800 for the three of us - including picking our 3 fastpasses of course. I thought that was outrageous at the time.

I loved Fastpass and used it multiple times daily on every trip, same with FP+. What I loved about that Oct 2021 trip was there was no line skipping, by anyone, so the regular line moved at a regular pace. There was no waiting in place for 20 mins or more. 🤷‍♀️

Plenty of people have claimed lines would be greatly reduced if Disney went standby only. I have no desire to go searching but they have also referenced the “documentary” that defuctland did as the bible also on that

This is where we are also, we are choosing quality over quantity now. I expect we’ll be back at some point, our days of multiple trips a year are over though.

This is our current problem, the parks are only “worth” visiting to us if we add the extras like LL which adds a lot of cost, which changes the value.

A parks day is no longer a $150 ticket plus food and extras, it’s a $200+ ticket (with MLL and ILL) plus food and extras. That’s a massive difference when looking at value.

We haven’t stepped foot in a Disney park since Jan of last year, and we currently don’t have any trips planned, we still love Disney, we just find better value elsewhere.

Very limited park capacity though.
