Little photo update (I don’t have a fancy camera so forgive the picture quality). They’ve been hard at work on the new pool, and traffic on Big Pine Trail is down to one lane at times.

Looks like what seems to be a retention pond is nearing completion, and pipes have been going in.

Nothing too interesting in terms of visible construction. Some sod has been laid and more pipes seem to be in the ground. The side of the pool deck near the water slide is still nearly completely blocked off with construction walls, and some of the tables from the pool deck have been relocated to the pool bar.

Construction has gone vertical on support buildings for the pool! There are what appear to be two buildings under construction, however it could just be one large building.

This is purely speculation, but given the number of pipes in the ground before these buildings went vertical, I would assume a pump room will be located here, as well as possibly a bathroom.

Apologies for the poor lighting and photo quality. Wanted to grab a photo, but the sun wasn’t up unfortunately.

How is access to that pool and bike barn, coming from, say, loops 1500 or 2000?
I’d say 2000 loop is easier as a pedestrian/biker. Both the 1500 and 2000 loops are almost the exact same distance from the pool with the detour in place, but coming from the 2000s loop is more pedestrian friendly.

Golf cart traffic is being diverted through the 1400s loop/Big Bear Path. 2000s loop might be a little closer if you park at the lot by the trading post, while the 1500s loop is closer to the lot by the sing along. Both ways are pretty simple (and you can still get to the parking lot near the sing along from the 2000s loop easily, it’s just a few minutes longer).

2000s loop comes with the added benefit of being nearby the Wilderness Pool, which is a leisure pool (no slides, no lifeguards), and is open for longer than the feature pool at the Meadows.

This is interesting! I asked AI about the Fort and it revealed a new permit for possible thematic elements.

From early May 2025 through mid-2026, construction will take place near the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool area at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. The Meadow Swimmin’ Pool and Wilderness Swimmin’ Pool will remain open for Guests to enjoy. During this time, seating availability around the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool may be limited and Guests may see or hear construction in the area. Guests using bus transportation should follow posted signage to reach the pool area.
From resort webpage.

Looks like it should be finishing up around the summer!

Thanks for the update! Nice to see they’re refreshing that whole area. The extra pool should help a lot with crowds, and it’s good to know the main Meadows pool won’t be impacted. Curious to see how the refurbished courts and playground turn out.

Sidewalks have nearly all been paved and a structure has been built between the two support buildings (probably) for shade! Didn’t bring my phone to the top of the slide with me, but the pool itself is coming along nicely!

My Speculation:
Given the size of the buildings, one will likely house a restroom, leaving the other building for an unknown use. A pump room will likely sit here, or within/near the speculated bathroom building, but there should be left over space to serve another purpose. Will be interesting to see!

Likely restroom building:

Both buildings, one on the right is the speculated restroom building:

Building with unknown use:

You can also see the structure for shade in the above photo and the new lanterns that line the pathways! The lanterns are certainly more modern than the ones there previously, but I’m happy with how they look!
