News Disneyland to Electrify Autopia: Are Tomorrowland Speedway's gas cars next?

EV Batteries can potentially be extremely dangerous, especially ones subject to grueling conditions, rough service environment, and frequent recharges.

I loved the experience, but there is a lot of potential to do something different with the existing space.

All they need to be is re-bodied golf carts.

I like to imagine the scenario where we've been driving electric cars for the last century and someone starts building ICE cars and tries to convince us it's a better way to go.

- Range anxiety! Where you going to put all these gasoline depots? You're going bury tanks of gas underground?
- I'm supposed to drive my kids around with a huge gas tank right behind them?
- You're putting an engine that makes gas explosions 1000's of times a minute... right in front of us?
- I've heard the things explode on impact
- OMG the refining process! That's filthy and creates pollution along with the car's exhaust system!
- The government is subsidizing the gas and oil companies! Where's my pitchfork?

It is shocking that didn't happen after Hong Kong Disneyland removed their Utopia because they needed the land....They could have shipped their whole fleet of cars over.... It would be great to see it done with electric cars and some actual scenery and show scenes along the way... HKDL did that, but it could be done better and really make it feel futuristic...instead of the Plain Jane go-kart track full of lawnmowers to currently is.... If they HAVE to have an IP, Sugar Rush with show scenes would be a fitting thematic bridge to Fantasyland...but they would have to spend the money for some decent set pieces along the track....to really create the world of Sugar Rush....
Move those "Design Your Own Car" units over from Test Track... New Autos made to look like the ones from the film.... it would be awesome.

I loved the original LBV Shopping Village....it was so charming....

I know capacity has something to do with it... but I'm still surprised that on average speedway sells out of LLMP faster than Small World, Mermaid, Dumbo, and Pirates... I'm guessing that's part of the reason Disney doesn't feel the need to upgrade it.

I think it’s always caught in the “in-between land” - there are ideas and plans to completely transform it - we knew about the tron plan - I’m guessing others exist.

They don’t want to do a “light” upgrade on it if they could get a better idea approved I’m guessing.

But in reality - a small “autopia” style rebrand and upgrade was needed 10 years ago.

A lot of things that should have happened ten years ago are happening now since now unlike ten years ago they don't have a multi-billion-dollar project that would ultimately become obsolete in less than a decade anyway eating up their budgets.
