My friend you believe whatever you want, you always do anyways no matter what anyone here tells you.

That's not true at all. If you can provide some evidence that the labor costs for an hourly CM at Disneyland are not in the $35 an hour ballpark, assuming a starting wage of $20, then I'm happy to adjust the labor assumptions on the annual costs for six hours of daily work.

So lets end this with just agreeing to disagree.

No, I'm good. You are the one who said this about the costs for a large restaurant to keep cotton damask tablecloths on all 30 tables per year for at least three seatings per day.

Seriously though how much money is it actually in savings? A couple thousand bucks a year, maybe?

So you'll have to excuse me if I politely decline your attempt at being knowledgeable on this situation. :)

Do you have the actual breakdown of costs for labor on the tablecloths? Is that person dedicated to ONLY those tablecloths or are they actually doing washing for the rest of Resort that also happens to include tablecloths? How long does it actually take to wash and iron a single tablecloth in an industrial laundry service like Disney has? You say 6 hours for 180, but do you know that for sure? And the answer to all these are no you don't know. That $76K you said is likely for ALL washing for that CM for the year not just tablecloths.

You come up with all these numbers out of thin air. So again lets move on from this. Because its not going to be productive. Neither of us have the real numbers. So you make whatever assumption you want, and I will do the same. You think its cost saving, well we have no proof of that. So again lets just agree to disagree.

Gang, for those keeping score at home...

I just went and looked at the Williams-Sonoma website, and the table linens I bought pre-Covid in the late 2010's have all shot way up in price. The 106 inch linen tablecloths I have are now going for $200 per piece! And the napkins have gone way up, and the price for napkin monogramming (a loss leader to get folks more involved, which I always fall for) has also gone up.

Apparently, I'm now sitting on over $1,000 worth of table linens just for a bit of variation in my humble candlelight suppers!

One other thing of note is the mention that the Napa Rose may attempt a Five Star rating from Forbes. The Napa Rose is currently a Four Star restaurant with Forbes, and here's what they'll need to accomplish consistently over a number of random, anonymous visits by Forbes auditors:

I think the service levels provided by the CM's are going to be the toughest nut to crack here for them. Good luck, though!

Here are photos of those four restaurants Forbes uses as examples of their 5 Star rated locations.

The Dining Room at the San Francisco Ritz-Carlton has now closed with no known reopening date, due to the instability of the downtown San Francisco socio-economic situation. I've included a picture of the Ritz Carlton Rancho Mirage's restaurant instead, as I eat with friends there at least once a year in a fun tradition, and I know first-hand that it is worthy of its 5 Stars from Forbes.

I'm unfamiliar with the others on the list, but the New York City restaurants especially look fabulous! 🧐

Yeah but do those places offer character dining?
