I'm happy to see any aspect of the park embracing the "studios"-look and dynamic. This is a win in my book.

It’s the same sort of ahistorical nonsense that deems things with real connections to Disney history in need of being “More Disney” to have a place in a Disney park. It’s an ornament being globbed onto something that was already massed to create distinction and denote the entry. So now you just have these three masses smooshed into each other. And why? Because another, newer building has a blue cone? The original is a poor example of postmodern symbolism shoved onto a building. The copy just more so.To be honest, I kind of appreciate how it references it without being a literal recreation in the use of the sorcerer's hat and the stripes. I guess there are all sorts of other things they could have done with this part of the park, but an animation experience and this aesthetic seems ok to me as a concept. For those who don't like the hat, is the argument that it should be restored to its original look when it was actually an animation studio?
Right, and this whole development makes it less likely that they will. Because it's still a facsimile of a studio. DCA, though, I think actually will need a name change by the time they're done with it.Yes, and at least they haven't changed the name of the park to some generic "adventure world" or other nonsense
No argument, but I do think I’d prefer either going back to the DHS Studio look or a closer replica of the not-very-interesting Burbank building. To be honest, I kind of appreciate how it references it without being a literal recreation in the use of the sorcerer's hat and the stripes. Pity the rest of the park is not on the same page. I wish the management at Disney would realize that not every park has to follow Magic Kingdom logic.I'm happy to see any aspect of the park embracing the "studios"-look and dynamic. This is a win in my book.
That seems to be the direction they are headed in, sadly.Yes, and at least they haven't changed the name of the park to some generic "adventure world" or other nonsense

Medium?
If you consider IP dumping grounds an actual plan for the future, maybe. It makes me more concerned for the future but admittedly I am a dying breed.I completely agree, plus I think both DHS and DAW have gone from broken parks to now parks that have some really cool things and an exciting future.
Still looks too yellow to me, the original is a much more muted tone.I get that it's intended to reference the sorcerer's hat on that building. What I don't understand is how a gaudy bauble from the 1990's building makes for good decoration on a building themed to 1930's Hollywood.

You don’t pick a finish color based on hopes that an uncontrolled, inconsistent process will occur exactly as desired.
Unless you take the sun out the sky it’s bound to fade eventually. You don’t pick a finish color based on hopes that an uncontrolled, inconsistent process will occur exactly as desired.
I meant the original building in Burbank is fadedYou don’t pick a finish color based on hopes that an uncontrolled, inconsistent process will occur exactly as desired.
Yes, which is why they pay for things like UV resistant additives and repainting.Unless you take the sun out the sky it’s bound to fade eventually.
So just another erroneous claim you don’t want to be challenged on. It’s supposed to be a light shade.I meant the original building in Burbank is faded
But regardless, you don't like this project so you're gonna continue finding new things to complain about and nitpick, and I have zero interest in continuing this discussion with you. Be well
This was my impression also, I don’t recall the OG building ever looking this yellow, which is why I thought the FL building was likely painted a bit darker to account for the inevitable FL fade.So just another erroneous claim you don’t want to be challenged on. It’s supposed to be a light shade.
