Yes I think so. Bob trotted out the Authentically Disney, Uniquely Emirati line that he previously used for SDL.

I personally think it’s far more interesting to produce something that celebrates the culture of where it is built than porting straight Americana. They seemed to have mostly, but not perfectly, threaded that needle on a Shanghai.
Totally agreed.

One of DLP’s biggest mistakes was not making Main Street Chicago themed and having a Toontown/Duckberg land, which would’ve appealed more to locals.

Shanghai is really cool in the ways they fuse architecture and what not into it. TRON for instance is supposed to look like a dragon tail, though that’s lost on at MK.

Totally agreed! I also never understood why they didn't lean into more unique or French properties at DLP. It still amazes me that DLP does not have B&TB, Hunchback, or any of the UK properties used. I really hope UAE has at least an Aladdin ride or area

Miral has claimed they are still interested in the project... But who knows if that's not just marketing speak. (And who knows if the UAE government itself, despite Miral being state-owned, agrees, let alone Disney shareholders or some in Disney corporate...)

I think this is a useless fluff statement. Time will tell if they actually break ground, and even then we can never be sure.

It’s two for Tuesday…two collapsed deals for the price of one 👍🏻👍🏻
