News Construction Underway on Fourth Wish Class Ship: Disney Believe

Have any of you considered the fact that most of your hatred of wish class is due to our nostalgia driven biased brains and not something fundamental to the ship itself? We miss the things we lose (even if they arent all that good themselves) and undervalue the good things we gain.

The fact that first time visitors who dont have nostalgia for any ship constantly rank the Wish class the best should point you to this conclusion. I.e. its not the wish class thats the problem with your experience of it. Its your perception.

So experiencing the Wish and not liking it means… there are no fundamental problems with it? See above.

You’re wasting your time arguing that different people like different things.

You’ll get insults and rude memes for stating your opinion šŸ™„

Expressing opinion is cool. Making it out as fact isn't .
What was the fact in what I quoted? It’s been frequently stated that first time cruisers enjoy the Wish class more than experienced DCL cruisers who are used to the older classes. This is just one example.
Sometimes statements are very obviously opinion rather than fact. We don’t need to preface every comment with ā€œin my opinion.ā€

While this factors in, if you believe this, then you also have to be open to the possibility that first time Disney cruisers on the Wish may view it more favorably because they do not know what they're missing. It works both ways.

I never cruised on the Wish but I’ve been on both the Fantasy and the Treasure and I preferred the Treasure.

The absence of a running track didn’t bother me and I liked the placement of the bars throughout the ship instead of all in the back. I thought the restaurants were more fun and I had no issue with their location.

The adult pool area on the Treasure was not as good as the one on the Fantasy.

Ive only cruised Disney one time on the Dream. I'm not exactly sure what I'd be missing personally on the Treasure. Seems to check more boxes for my family. We don't really use the adult pools. I guess the ship possibly feeling more crowded would be the big one. If it feels harder to find a table at the buffet or a pool chair by the pool. Not that either was necessarily easy on the Dream. From what I understand, the Magic and Wonder are the ships of choice if you want a less crowded feel.

No thats not what i said at all. First time cruisers experience cruises without a nostalgia bias. They rank wish class the best.

I think for many older dcl cruisers it is the nostalgia bias that makes them dislike the wish class. They are overvaluing the importance of the things wish class has taken away and ignoring or undervaluing the new better things the wish class has brought to the table.

You’re missing an important distinction. First time cruisers on the Wish rate it higher than first time cruisers rate the original 4 ships. So it has nothing to do with not knowing what they’re missing.

Yes. And it’s still got fundamental design flaws. They are well documented through the industry.
Yes there are some design flaws. But are they really that important as older cruisers make them out to be? Two elevator banks vs three. I mean who cares? Smaller adult pool area. Yes its worse but all the ships have small adult pool areas. It doesnt really change my experience of the ship. You cant swim in any of them. Walking track. As a runner i miss it. But its hardly in use on the original ships in terms of running. I doubt most people who complain so much about it actually used it. Plus for walkers there is still a track with a glorious stunning view of the sea and front of the ship that the older ships dont have. No one appreciates this. Cos they dont have nostalgia for it.

And what about the things wish does better?

How does this prove it has ā€œnothingā€ to do with it?

First time cruisers arent just doing the wish. They go on the other cruises too after liking the wish and hearing such great things about the older ships but are slightly disapointed in comparison with the wish class.
