Hey guys,

Leaving tomorrow night for WDW, just checked the forecast on orlandosentinel.com . I had planned on going to Epcot on Thursday, MGM on Friday, and MK on Saturday, coming home Christmas Eve. It looks like it is going to start storming Friday, and have major thunderstorms Saturday. I have been a few times when it has rained and it seems like alot of stuff shuts down when it rains. I need some info from the locals, and others familiar with wet weather policy. I know parades and Fantasmic won't happen (too dangerous). I heard that almost nothing stops Illuminations (I think it has been cancelled once or twice for a hurricane)... What about the Christmas stuff like the Osborne lights & candlelight processional? Should I change the plans to go to MK Thursday and save Epcot for the rainiest day? It seems like there would be more open when it's raining (the countries, innoventions, inside stuff) I wanted to go to MK Saturday because they stay open to midnight. I hope the bad weather blows over or goes somewheres else, but I'm trying to plan ahead just in case.
Thanks for your help!:xmas: and Merry Christmas!

JMHO, but we usually hit Epcot or MGM when it's raining. There's lots of stuff to do indoors that take up a lot of time in both these parks so that you're not walking around in the rain. Of course, you won't be able to do Test Track if the weather is bad.

Hopefully the weather won't be as bad as they are predicting. If it is, grab the poncho and try to make the best of it! I hope you have a great time!!:)

We are arriving Friday and I have been watching the weather as well. Keeping fingers crossed that its not too bad. When we went in 2004 it did rain hard enough to keep the lights off at least one night at MGM. We took a bus over at night after a rainy day at MK. It had stopped raining but they had trouble with the lights due to the rain. They were up and working the next night. So if your time is limited and you want to see the lights you might have a cm at guest services call over to MGM to see if the lights are on. I'd say for the rainy day go to Epcot.

btw: the forcast online we've been watching says that its scattered showers thurs/fri. so hopefully they will scatter away from WDW!
