So going to Disney in a week...I have a lunch res for BOG our last day. I really wanted one for the first night. Is there any real chance that I would somehow be able to get a din reservation there our first night, which would be August 16, or should I just give up hope and be happy I have lunch reservations. Thanks

Keep trying! You'd be surprised at what wil become available. Last trip was a disaster with DH not feeling well the whole time so we had to cancel some ADRs and replace them in time to cover for would-be lost dining plan points. We gave up some good ones and gained some good ones too. Good luck!

Check out Disney Dining Buddy or WDWTools ADR Sniper if you're willing to spend a couple bucks for a good chance at a reservations.

I've had multiple BOG reservations for a party of 6 come available for my trip next week.

Agree with jrlbc06- I have gotten 2 reservations - BoG and Wishes dessert party through dining buddy now. worth the $8 not to have to keep checking for me personally. and yes, there is a decent chance someone will relinquish one right before that day.

Well DDB works... I got a 7pm dinner reservations last night for this Sunday at be our guest.

Very cool.

Also, I don't know if this still happens, but not too long after it first opened, we were able to go "standby" and got in within a few minutes. There was a little booth just outside the entrance to the castle area. We stood in a line of about 8 people deep, put our names in for party of 2, and got in without reservations in just a few minutes. Loved it, btw, and have already gone back once. Going to try to get a last minute res for September if possible, but not big enough of a deal to pay $8 for it. If we get it, we get it - if not, we eat at Epcot that day lol.
