This whole "you're doing too much if you want to know/plan for anything in advance" is an exceedingly weird hill to die on, and one that only makes sense for a local that can go whenever they want.

If it's too extra to want to know when entertainment is scheduled, is it also too extra to look at the refurb calendar to make sure your favorite ride is open before you drop $200+ for a day ticket?

No one said it was "too extra" to know anything in advance.

If this is what you do to plan your trip, more power to you.

Also while I'm a Californian and a MK holder, I'm not local to Disneyland. So I don't just "go whenever I want".

Speaking of calling someone a liar - do you remember seeing tables in the lobby of the grand Californian reserved for those ordering from the lounge menu?

Like the tables in the actual lobby
I'm not calling anyone a liar.

And I've never actually stepped foot in the Grand Californian sad to say. As its out of my price range I decided many years ago until it was I was never going to step foot inside. Never wanted to get my hopes up until it was something I could afford. I actually could swing it these days, but its more a principal thing for me more than anything at this point.

Not sure what this is about anyways, but there is your answer.

I didn't call through the 1970s-90s because I was too cheap to pay the toll charge -- this when most businesses had 800 numbers but no, not them -- but my friend always did before our visits, except when we worked there.
They still don't have a toll free number, still the same 714 number. Although with free nationwide on most cell plans its pretty much not needed these days.

What did your friend call about?

I’m pretty sure as of the early 90s you could call 714.781.4565 to hear a list of attraction refurbishments. The whole phone number just came to back to me.

Stayed there when it first opened before prices got crazy. Used to eat at Napa Rose and Storyteller. Liked their early days tour. More recently I use their lobby as a nice place to rest when I don't want to hang out in the parks waiting on a queue time.

I used to call six flags and ask about the concert schedules for the amphitheater.

Did you never call and ask questions before the internet?
Not about a show schedule at a theme park.

And before this exchange I've never known anyone that did. And I say this as someone who worked at a amusement park in the 90s.
