The GMR portion was an interesting piece. That ride building goes from the entrance to next to Honey playground. Unreal size.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
Yeah, and apparently they're thinking about opening a mine train ride or something...?
;)
Seriously, though, only the Soarin' rumor has any credibility. I would say it's as good as fact that they'll be getting a new film, and HOPEFULLY (but less likely) another theatre.
The Frozen ride theory is much more based on fan-demand than actual plans.

Yeah that's what I felt too. I wanted to see if anyone else thought that it was credible.

Seems like just some throwing crap against the wall to see what sticks. The new Soarin' movie is hardly a secret at this point and the Poly losing the fountain is also established; then you have a regurg of the Frozen rumor in Norway. Nothing new.

Predicting that Eo will be replaced at some point is just easy money. We all know it will happen sometime -- it's quite possible the location for the "mystery project" coming to the park. Or not. But the film won't be around forever. So that's not much of a prediction.

So, you basically have GMR as the only going out on a limb prediction -- so when it doesn't happen, you get the standard "they changed their minds" response.

Yawn. Move along, nothing to see.

I agree with all of the above and want to add that the website being linked is not exactly known for insider Disney information. Heck, the local woman who reports daily arrest records in the area where I used to teach posts her reports on the same site, so not exactly a place I think I would be looking for truly reliable, hear-it-here first information when it comes to Disney plans. The author very well may have gotten most of that information from this very forum lol.

I don't want to see it tore down at all! It just needs to be updated to more current movies that focus on Disney movies and their franchises...

I actually remembered WDW1971 mentioning the Whole Imagination Pavilion would be closing for the whole Pavilion getting a redo. The catch is he mentioned last year before and said Disney changed their mind because of the Next Gen budget was growing.

The Author did got the info in terms of Soarin', Maelstrom, and the Fountain in terms of this site.

I didn't remember Great Movie ever being mentioned for the Star Wars land on this site or having anything with Star Wars in it.

The Popular Star Wars Land rumor was one that had Sound Dangerous Buildings, American Idol Experience, Building, Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular, and the counter service Backlot Express. Martin on this site has mentioned this in the past before it was on hold in the later part of last year.

The other thing with a Great Movie ride is there was another rumor on it last year on a site I am not allowed to mention. That site mentioned nothing about Star Wars and the Great Movie Ride was supposed to add an eating experience in it.

The Captain Eo rumor on the site link isn't from this site. The only rumor with Eo was the whole Imagination Pavilion closing for a redo back in 2013, but it was scrapped.

Seems like a big fat regurgitation of speculations smeared all over forums and discussion boards on the internet...I don't see anything that looks to have much backbone.

As for opinions...

I don't see them shutting down TGMR. Be kinda hard to fix that one up given that the whole friggin' park needs an overhaul and BADLY. When California Adventure (the "Ooops Baby" of the theme park empire) looks like what HS should have become...there's a problem...

The Frozen rumors are so far just that. And besides...I think it'd fit better over at MK. The instant they start pumping Disney cartoons (past Donald Duck...which...kinda sucks) in to WS, they might as well hang the whole world culture thing up. We don't need Fantasyland: The Sequel.

Captain EO...does need retired. I loved getting to see it. But that whole pavilion is in a bad way...and of course the shutdown rumors of last year...yadda yadda...

And Soarin' (I do hate that name! Makes me want to buy some Herpacin!) is just getting a new film and some upgrades from what I've seen...speculation...speculation...

I have to agree with the above...what sixth grader wrote this?

It's odd how much traction this article seems to be gaining on the internet, considering it's basically a rewrite of an earlier Themeparktourist article, which itself was mainly just cobbled together from rumors that have been on this site for months. And then the rumors themselves are strangely assembled and presented - Maelstrom has been well discussed for months, the Polynesian fountain news is already official and hardly a rumor at all, and Captain EO and Great Movie Ride seem almost pure speculation on the author's part. And calling Soarin' a "closure" at all seems just incorrect since the ride is reopening a few months later. Kind of hard to determine a sense of credibility here.

I saw the original theme park tourist article too. And I've seen most of the stuff in them on here. Just I know it's a fan dream for frozen and GMR closing is news to me.
