As the other post said you can... I just wonder... Why? Is there something audio wise you are really trying to capture? You're going to make lugging your camera around a bit more of a pain with that mic, and most of the parade music can be pulled from videos on the internet that will likely be as good as what you are going to get with that mic, maybe even better as you can sometimes find video online of parades that was capture with 5.1 stereo.
