alamo online check in..

This may be a silly question, but i'm just curious cause i've never done online rental car check in before. If I do the online check in, does Alamo or any company for that matter (renting with alamo though) still put a hold on your card until the car is returned?

I believe Alamo is one of the few companies that *doesn't* put a hold on your card, regardless of how you check in.
(I usually don't do online checkin but rather go to a self-serve kiosk)
