Oh man - sorry to hear about your health scare, Carl. I imagine it must have come as quite a shock to you to go in for pills and come out with news like that! I am glad to hear that they were able to fix the valve though and that you are on the road to recovery.

Having been through it a couple of times now with my father (he's had a couple of heart attacks, valve repair and a triple bypass I believe), it is definitely an ordeal I wouldn't wish on anyone. Very scary to have to go through as a family member; couldn't imagine having to be the one suffering through it.
