I'm sort of in this camp. I don't think they have to re-imagine it, per se. The old anchors are still fine. Just fill in the dead space. Although I maintain that Astro Orbiter at ground level is an atrocity.

The value is lower and the price is much higher than in the past. The majority of people here would agree in that basic viewpoint, IMO. Is it "worth it" for your family? That's more subjective.

All I know is it's been far too long since we got a good PeopleMover rumor with any traction. And if we're not getting PeopleMover rumors, what's even the point of the internet?

It took 20ish years, but big organizations have mostly figured out how to manage information flow in the digital age. It's not easy to find people with the right intersection of opportunity and interest in producing leaks anymore.

The updated ride seems to have a propensity for drenching shoes. "Crocs without socks" is the way to ride. I'm with you that any moisture above the ankles is easily manageable.

So I finally rode the thing last month. First trip to Anaheim since 2022. It was better than I expected. By a lot. It felt lively. Not too much dead space. The storyline is cheesy, but it works. Even the lift and drop were way better than they appeared on video. The happy "party" vibe is a lot...

I notably remember my parents complaining about how different Disney was in the late 80s and 90s compared to before. They didn't like "all the changes." Somewhere on whatever social media is predominant in the year 2060, there will be a yet another thread started by a middle-aged keyboard...

I guess? But, not really. Knott's, et al don't really compete on terms with Disney parks. They have their own respectable place in the themed entertainment market, but it's not like Microsoft's place next to Apple.

Knott's is a great little park, but it has always basically been Six Flags with better theming maintenance and food. Its flagship coasters, especially, are all low capacity, off-the-shelf designs. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

To be fair, the 100th was pretty lackluster. About the only memorable thing about it was the ironic Super Bowl commercial.

We do it because it's fun to speculate and it doesn't hurt anything to rumor monger about something so inconsequential. I eagerly look forward to any and all 2025 PeopleMover rumors. I will read and share them ad nauseum.

The Pressler Era was way worse than anything under the Bobs. Not even a comparison in my mind.
