    All things Universal Studios Hollywood

Completely agree, but I am at least counting on it looking better than RRR.

No, not all theme parks. It’s a broad spectrum. Magic Kingdom largely targets familes with small kids, while Epcot also wants adults visiting the bars and restaurants around World Showcase. Any park with an intense thrill coaster—usually with a significant height restriction—is heavily targeting...

    All things Universal Studios Hollywood

Intamin built Velocicoaster, which I think is the most stunningly beautiful mostly-bare-steel coaster I’ve ever seen. It is a grand, majestic kinetic sculpture in my eyes, and I’m not being sarcastic. 😄 So, FaF Orlando has that in its favor. RRR’s hideous, boxy, industrial-looking vertical lift...

The thing I’m looking forward to most about Orlando’s version is how much kinetic energy that spike is going to (potentially) add to Citywalk.

I can’t stand the F&F IP, so the less theming this ride (or Orlando’s version) has, the more I’ll like it. I’d rather just enjoy a great coaster’s amazing track engineering and graceful maneuvers than spend one second in that IP’s obnoxious world. 😃

Which Version of "it's a small world" is the best?

I’ve only been on the 2 U.S. versions. Of those two, I greatly prefer DL over MK. 1) It’s the original, and has its historic ties to the 1964 World’s Fair, Walt Disney’s interest in AA’s and new ride systems, and the career paths of Mary Blair, The Sherman Brothers and Arrow Development. 2)...

Rank the 10 American Disney/Universal Parks

Well… I’ve been a Potter fan since the first book came came to the U.S. … I’ve been a Nintendo fan since the NES launched… I grew up watching Universal monster movies on TV… How to Train Your Dragon is my all-time favorite movie… And I love mythology, portals, constellations, carousels and...

Wait till you see it in person. The place is cohesive and charming and jaw-droppingly beautiful at night. There’s no dead space—Everything works together. It’s certainly got capacity issues right now. But on my visit a couple of weeks ago, the park was crowded, downtime issues occurred, and I...

Rank the 10 American Disney/Universal Parks

I might post some detailed ‘splaining soon. 😃 But I have been to Epic 27 times during its first year, and—in a nutshell… The park is gorgeous. The music is wonderful. The rides are great (5 of them are among my top favorites anywhere). The two shows and the restaurants (most of them) are top...

Rank the 10 American Disney/Universal Parks

This Californian-in-Florida’s view of how DL and DCA compare to every FL park: 1) Disneyland 2) Epic Universe 3) Animal Kingdom 4) Islands of Adventure 5) Epcot 6) Universal Studios FL 7) Disney California Adventure 8) Disney Hollywood Studios 9) Gatorland 10) Magic Kingdom 11) Legoland FL 12)...

Yes. MK has far fewer things to do.

    Expedition Everest vs Matterhorn Bobsleds

Matterhorn. The Matterhorn is charming and features an ingenious double layout full of surprises and functioning yetis. I don’t like the current vehicles, and hope more comfortable bobsleds return in the future. But as a ride overall, it’s a historic masterpiece that still thrills and delights...

On the other hand, this really is the big, flashy, attention-grabber they’ve needed: They’ve just put this park on the must-do list of every coaster fan on Earth and it’ll bring in thrillseekers for years and years. Now that USH has checked-off that particular item box, hopefully more family...

    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

I agree. The pink hues work at DL. In Florida it just looks sunburned.

    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

I gotta shake my head at the notion that “Villains Land” at MK is going to be any “darker” or “edgier” than DL’s PoC, HM, Indy, Mr. Toad, the Matterhorn, the SB castle walk-through, Pinocchio, Pirates Cove, etc. This is not Dark Universe, where Igor walks around with severed… er… surprises...
