It seems like it was silly to even try. Highs not hitting 50 and feels-like temps in the 30s, there was no reason to even attempt to open those rides today.

Coming from Ohio and Cedar Point, there may be delayed openings for Everest and the Universal coasters due to the temps and any wind. That said, I'd rather be at the parks in this cold than the Orlando summer heat.

WDW has done a lot in the past decade that I have strongly disagreed with and not liked. But they still dominate the industry as far as operating rides and attractions with efficiency. No other park or operator can even come close. The throughput of WDW rides and attractions is untouchable...

I'm not sure why everyone thinks they would close 24 if not 48 hours prior to landfall. That has never been protocol. Nothing they are doing (or not doing) is anything different than the way it's done every time.
