DHS Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

Agree, however, I'd prefer a dark ride similar to Tokyo if I had my choice between the two.

Does anyone else think Galaxy’s Edge is a misfire?

To be fair to Disney, I thought SWGE was the worst land in Orlando and could never be touched, but then Universal decided to create a land around a HP spin-off, that nobody liked, set in Paris, that transports you to the British MoM (which goes against that mode of travel) when the F&F area was...

News Disney’s Fiscal Full Year and Q4 2025 Earnings Results Webcast

Correct. Which is why I keep highlighting the fact that “the economy” is being buoyed by the top 10%. For the other 90% it is not good right now. However, we are not in nor have we experienced a real economic downturn. When the top 10% portfolios start taking hits, and that occurs, then we will...

News Disney’s Fiscal Full Year and Q4 2025 Earnings Results Webcast

I have a hard time buying into anything @PREMiERdrum says anymore, after he led me to believe that the NCAA was going to go scorched earth on Ann Arbor and have Michigan competing in D3 for the next century....

News Disney’s Fiscal Full Year and Q4 2025 Earnings Results Webcast

Besides a brief dip in 2022, coinciding with Fed rate hikes, we've been on an unprecedented run. That immediately recovered. We have not had an economic downturn, since COVID raised wages while also exponentially raising house values, not to mention many other factors. No one's portfolio has...

News Disney’s Fiscal Full Year and Q4 2025 Earnings Results Webcast

We haven't experienced an economic downturn in that time. However, it's a lot of smoke and mirrors. The top 10% of households are buoying the economy right now, while the other 90% are feeling the pinch. All is good right now because the top 10% have been riding out one if, if not the longest...

Soarin’ Across America to replace Soarin’ Around the World for Nation’s 250th Birthday

While the Fort Pitt tubes offer the best entry point, I think the approach via the Parkway North offers the best view of the city skyline.

The worst decision WDW ever made?

You'd have been better off in a bond fund over the last 10 years, despite the bond market being negative over the last five years. Wild.

The worst decision WDW ever made?

DIS is currently trading at $118.96 (at the moment I'm typing this), which is only .10¢ more than it was trading for at the close on July 17, 2015 ($118.86). Besides the COVID era hill climb and subsequent steep drop, it's more of a kid coaster or omnimover dark ride.

DHS What should they do with Animation Courtyard?

Not saying this is exactly what I would have wanted, but it has always seemed to me a missed opportunity to not have more cohesion and lands grouped by studio, rather than single IP. For example, like I mentioned above, Animation Courtyard could have been expanded upon to be a place to park...

DHS What should they do with Animation Courtyard?

I thought that an easy/cheap fix to the GMR would have been to make it all Disney/Pixar themed. Start with Steamboat Willie go through the decades of Disney movie making. Then, again, for relatively cheap they could have made AC into Toon Town and had MMRR the flagship ride there (as it is in DLR).

WSJ: Even Disney Is Worried About The High Cost Of A Disney Vacation (gift link)

Yes, all vacations are by definition a "luxury expense". My OP was in response to the disposable income discussion, not in relation to Disney specifically and if it is a "luxury vacation/resort". Given how it is, however, not essential to survival, it's therefore a "luxury expense". Funny...

WSJ: Even Disney Is Worried About The High Cost Of A Disney Vacation (gift link)

True. Not disagreeing there. However, that is one very specific example. In general, travel is a lot more affordable/accessible than in previous generations. Europe and the Caribbean, in particular, are relatively cheap and easy to access. My parents were going to Lake Erie and Ocean City...

WSJ: Even Disney Is Worried About The High Cost Of A Disney Vacation (gift link)

I saw some numbers on this a little while back, but I won't even pretend to remember them even roughly. What it boiled down to though was essentially: "The essential items were affordable while the luxury items were expensive, but now, the essentials are expensive while the luxury is...
