    Disney’s Animal Kingdom Was a Mistake

    I love AK because it is so much cooler on a hot day. The other parks lack a tree canopy which makes even a short stroll on a Summer day exhausting. For the shade alone, I love AK.

    I totally agree. I never miss it. My husband is soooo over it. I wish they would update it using holograms or something that would make it more natural.

    Describe your first trip to WDW. How old were you? What year was it?

    It was 1991 and I was 42. I insisted we take the ferry to MK to get the entire effect of the park experience. 42 yo and I wept when the castle came in sight. I know it is weird that after many, many visits, I still get emotional as we dock.

    Swearing in the parks, have you experienced this?

    I let a swear word rip last Christmas and didn't even know how bad it was until the entire line went wooo. Someone cut to the front of the line and was allowed on the ride. I called them a name. I apologized to the rest of the line and they all agreed, they were that swear word.

    Disney springs to do

    last time we were there was last year in November and instead of going to the parks we just went to all the resorts to look at the Christmas decorations. It was a wonderful day.

    I wear my ears around the house when I'm not at Disney. I'm 60. I love it when the Jehovah's Witnesses come to the door.

    We always eat at Tusker House at the Animal Kingdom. Always. Love the buffet there. And the full bar.

    I was having cocktails with my husband in the waiting area of La Cantina de San Angel when a woman started making a scene then passed out completely. A hoard of Disney EMTs descended on her and she and they disappeared without a trace in minutes. I mean I looked away and looked back and they...

    What items have you lost at WDW and never recovered?

    I left my favorite sun hat in Tough to be a Bug but didn't realize it for awhile. Went back to the exit of the show and CM were cleaning out the 3D glasses. One of them told me to stand aside and she would find it. She did. I was so grateful.

    We always tell the crier we are the "Barrymores". It makes my actor husband so happy to be Mr. Barrymore for the day.

    If I'm having a bad day I like to wish myself on to a gondola slowly traveling through the Haunted Mansion.
