Wrap article from yesterday saying that Shanghai 2nd gate ("Project Atlas") is "in the planning stages" and that TDR third gate ("DisneySky") is "back on the drawing board." No idea how real this is, but Martin seemed to confirm on the Shanghai subforum that the Project Atlas codename is legit.

It was a hilarious shock to me when the elevator pretty much immediately started the drop sequence as soon as the ride started. I was expecting to go through a bunch of show first like all other ToT versions. It kind of continues this theme at DLP of classic attractions subverting your expectations.

I always tell people IRL, who frequently assume "frequent theme park goer = Disney adult" that I'm a theme park fan, not a Disney fan necessarily. However I think Disney makes the best theme parks in the industry.

Figment, for whatever reason, has always drawn a particularly intense and obsessive following. I personally find it pretty bewildering that a character from an objectively bad theme park attraction that hasn’t received any notable attention in over 20 years still has such a devoted fanbase.

Definitely a period of instability coming, but I think people are underrating the potential that the region may get much more stable in the long run as a result of this week's developments, aka good for Disney and regional tourism.

I don’t really understand why people seem to assume there are only two extremes this land could take: mature and frightening or campy and family friendly. It could be gothic and dark without being "scary" (which Disney was never going to pursue anyway). That’s what I was expecting and hoping...
